Thought I'd contribute my stats: First U/R status 7/13, just now changed to 7/23. Hoping to hear something positive soon! T40s, top 1% , prior work experience and ties to NYC.

Also just updated to 7/23 from sometime in June. It's been so long I don't even remember anymore.

That has to be a good sign, doesn't it? Even if nothing more than to actually GET a decision soon. I've had no movement in weeks...InnocuousDiatribe wrote:Also just updated to 7/23 from sometime in June. It's been so long I don't even remember anymore.

For those who have been admitted and have deposited...
has anyone received their NYU NetID? I deposited over a week ago and have seen no action... called admissions and they said they received my deposit and that i should get my NetID soon so i can apply for fin aid and housing... still waiting on my NetID though so I was wondering if others are having this problem as well

Re: NYU Transfers
Same. I called last Friday and they kind of just told me to cool my jets. If I don't see it by this week I may be a little frustrated. They said 3-10 business days but still...candytex wrote:For those who have been admitted and have deposited...

So, do you think if i tell them that today is my wife's bday and she really wants to know where we are moving they will let me in (or reject me)?
Im trying to pull out all the stops here.

Re: NYU Transfers
I'd go with the "dog-ate-my-acceptance-letter" excuse. Tell them you need a new copy and see if they fall for it and send you one.arigoldwannabe wrote:So, do you think if i tell them that today is my wife's bday and she really wants to know where we are moving they will let me in (or reject me)?

Re: NYU Transfers
My last update was 7/12 UR...I get the sense that they've picked their class, left a stack of people on a de facto waitlist until seat deposits come in, and will trickle some people in off the stack as spots open up, and then ding everyone else at the end. Basically all the features of a waitlist without telling people that's what they're doing (perhaps b/c that would trigger a lot of people to withdraw, and take whatever they have elsewhere so they can get their lives going, and NYU wants to keep their options open in terms of who their next options are out of the stack).

I think this assessment is spot on.gdizz01 wrote:My last update was 7/12 UR...I get the sense that they've picked their class, left a stack of people on a de facto waitlist until seat deposits come in, and will trickle some people in off the stack as spots open up, and then ding everyone else at the end. Re: NYU Transfers
I got tired of the silence from NYU, so I gave the admissions office a call this morning to ask when they expect to finish finalizing transfer decisions. Their reply: everything should be done by mid-August.

Re: NYU Transfers
I think I just got in. All requirements gone, tuition box appeared.
Processing 7/5--> UR 7/18--> UR 7/20--> Tuition box today 7/24
I'm pretty set on Columbia at this point though, already slogging through OCI bidding and getting ready to start the year. The easy commute to NYU is tempting but I think I will withdraw. Maybe I'll vacate a spot for someone else!

I know what will be definitely be done by mid-August: my waiting. If they think I'm going to attend without the advantage of OCI, they're dreaming.mmfisher wrote:I got tired of the silence from NYU, so I gave the admissions office a call this morning to ask when they expect to finish finalizing transfer decisions. Re: NYU Transfers
It would be nice. I'm not being the least bit picky either: I'll go with whichever accepts me first. Somebody show me some love!forestgirl wrote:Preferably a spot with your name on it!canesfan1986 wrote:Please! Thanks! lolforestgirl wrote:I think I just got in.
