i generally agree with the sentiment above, but i would say that if it really is that worth it to you to be in LA and market yourself in the legal market there, then transferring is certainly something to consider (which you already have, obviously). its going to be very tough for you to make a case for entertainment law coming from BC/Fordham. of course, going into further debt and giving up a significant amount of money at your current school is tough, but really it just comes down to how much you want to eventually practice in LA. if the answer is "absolutely want to be in LA," then i think you should make the trip out west.
by the way, when did your app go complete? did you get an email regarding the complete status or did you submit and then get a call much like reasonable troll?
Thanks for the advice. For me, I am not willing to practice outside of California and spend additional time away from my family after law school. I went to BC/Fordham because of the scholarship and did not even get into UCLA during my initial applications. The way I see it, getting the scholarship money for a year and now transferring is not too bad of a financial decision. (I should also add that after moving, I discovered that I absolutely can't stand living on the east coast!) The boost from going to the best school in the market I want to practice in, which has a program geared towards the industry I want to practice in, is worth an additional $40k in debt.
Also, I never received any status checker of any kind. I simply got an e-mail saying that they would let me know when my application was complete, then a few days later received the call that I was admitted. I received the e-mail today.
