Congrats! I know you were looking to be in NYC, so does that mean you'll be leaving Penn to head to CLS over NYU?howdypumpkin wrote:In via email just now.

Thanks!
I havent really decided yet and will probably turn to the wisdom of tls to help me. I have until the 25th for a deposit at Columbia, 31st for NYU, and will probably be posting a lot now in the nyu or columbia thread.

What questions do you have?
We participate in it just like everyone else. Bidding deadline for transfers is July 25 (this coming Wednesday).

That was extremely helpful. I guess I should get myself in gear then and start making decisions! (I am thinking yes...)shock259 wrote:What questions do you have?

Haha, if ONLY it were still June; that would mean we'd have more than a couple of weeks to figure out our lives if accepted!PinkCow wrote:Complete!!! Only took until June 20th

Why don't you withdraw from Columbia given that you are already admitted to H?PinkCow wrote:Complete!!! Only took untilJuneJuly 20th

Re: Columbia 2012 Transfer Applicants
Does C continue admitting even after the transfer bid deadline? Just morbid curiosity at this point since I'm 99% sure I'll be going to a different school.

Re: Columbia 2012 Transfer Applicants
I went from "Completion Pending" to "Complete" on 7/18, and I got an e-mail from the admissions office letting me know. Have other people received e-mails when they finally went complete?

Still technically incomplete on the status checker. Got an email from them Friday saying that they were going to be "processing" my application shortly.
Meh.
Whatever, already put down my deposit at NYU and feel confident about my decision to go there. Just wish I understood why CLS has been so bad at getting my stuff together whereas NYU was so quick at pulling the trigger.

I wish I understood this process. Lol. Apparently what I thought matters doesn't.mdfreeman wrote:Still technically incomplete on the status checker. Got an email from them Friday saying that they were going to be "processing" my application shortly.

Re: Columbia 2012 Transfer Applicants
In at Columbia on Friday!! I transferred from a T20 and got on its flagship law review. I expressed my strong interests in academia in my personal statement. It only took them 4 days to send out the acceptance letter since my application became "complete."

Re: Columbia 2012 Transfer Applicants
I also only took 4 days to get a decision after getting the "complete" email. Some people have gotten stuck their for over a month, though. Who knows.
Hopefully you guys hear back on Monday. That should give you enough time to deposit and get your bids in before the EIP bidding deadline of Wednesday.
As always, good luck.

Who told you the Wed deadline? The career office person I spoke with just said to try to get them in by mid week - sounds like they just don't want us to wait until the last second.
Also out of curiosity what legal markets are you all targeting?

It's on a bunch of the materials. Transfer bidding period ends on Wednesday, July 25th at 5pm.
And I'm doing all NYC. No ties elsewhere.

Re: Columbia 2012 Transfer Applicants
This website suggests that we can participate in EIP as long as admitted at least a week before it starts: --LinkRemoved--
Would transfers be disadvantaged by signing up for the program so late?

Re: Columbia 2012 Transfer Applicants
I don't know how you can really participate if all of the interviews are set up already. Maybe they let you sign up for any firms that still have slots open after the bidding period? But even then, that would only be a handful of firms. And they would be the least desirable firms.
But maybe call Admissions or career services or something.

I think I'm going to withdraw from Columbia. I don't think I would choose it over Penn. A harder call than NYU, but still.

At this point, I mean, what the hell. Seriously, just send me an up or down by this point. Especially with the EIW deadline coming up.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
