I took a bluebook exam at my old school. Just tab up your bluebook and read through it once or twice so that you know where everything is.

I'm in DC all summer, so if anyone wants to check out the school or look for apartments, send me a pm. Would be nice to meet some people before the start-of-year rush starts.

Does anyone know if there is some second semester GPA average we must maintain? I cant imagine there is because there is no reference of it ANYWHERE (unlike GW who put it in acceptance letters). I have EA admission but my GPA dropped from a A- average to a B+ so just making sure.

Thanks.

^^^ I actually placed a phone call to GULC today to ask this question. The Transfer Coordinator said "records will be reviewed and unless there is some indication of serious cause for concern a drop will not be an issue."

Whew! Freaking my self out there for a second over nothing! Cant wait to be at GULC.

I assume most posters here are EA admits, but is anyone familiar with how long the RD choices usually take? 4 weeks? I guess in one sense, you hope they take a *little* long with your app, b/c it's awkward if you get accepted (which is obviously a very good thing) but you've yet to hear back from, say, CCN, with GULC wanting an answer soon.

Anyway, congrats to the EA admits here.

Last year I think people found out around the 20th. Someone confirm this. So my guess is that Georgetown will start letting regular decision acceptances this upcoming week.

really? Well, seeing as how I submitted my app *today*, I don't think I'll receive my decision this upcoming week, haha

good luck to everyone else who applied

I'd love for everyone to get together before classes to do a happy hour or something.
Can I ask what was the turnaround for your need-based aid? Any chance I'd get info before a 6/28 deadline?

Just got the admitted email Friday. Submitted my application on 6/7 I think. Was surprised at how quickly I got a decision. Good luck to all!

Transfer brothers and sisters,
I assume that in the "Request for Resumes" bidding tab the firms DO NOT require a cover letter or transcript unless they specifically say that they do... Also assuming that this means that the check marks in the boxes (the boxes that appear on the right hand side of the screen when you click "review" on an individual firm) indicate that cover letters and transcripts are not required, correct?

I don't know, but if you find out, will you post the response here? I may try to call OCS and find that out as well on my lunch break later.

This has me worried, though (from an OCS reminder email): "You can also click on "Review" next to the employer to review hiring criteria and select your resume and any other documents an employer might request (e.g., transcript or cover letter)." Seems to suggest that if it's on the list, the employer wants it, though it's certainly possible to place a bid without attaching those materials -- just tried it successfully.

Does anyone know any details about an orientation schedule? Are we only required to go to the August 27th registration or are we stuck for the whole 4 day thing?
