Le sigh... no. All I received was an e-mail saying they would send me my password by the end of the week.

I'm assuming I wont get that information about OCI until they receive my check for the seat deposit?

Yes - same here. I don't know to do with all of this information. It looks like we have through July 20th to submit our bids, but I'm wondering if some firms only look at the first 100 or so bids before locking everyone else out. As in, is there an advantage to submitting bids early?

I feel like there was something I saw, and no can't find, in the emails/packet that said that all recruiters get all of the resumes at the same time so there's no real advantage to getting them in asap other than the issues of Symplicity slowing down.

Yep, you're right. I found it on page 11 of the FRP information packet. I guess reading things is helpful.

did anyone just get in today and having a hard time figuring out what the hell to do about the write-on? They sent me an email at 6:45 telling me that I needed to sign up by midnight, but the attached instructions said I needed to do it by 8:00pm EST. Of course I didn't see the email until after 8:00 and can't get on the TWEN page. help anyone?? I will be a little upset if I'm totally locked out of this process now.

Edit: JK figured out how to get in... jesus talk about short notice. Got accepted this morning and am apparently starting a write-on tomorrow?! I was planning on spending my weekend at the beach!!!

Does anyone know how to determine the username for the write-on competition? For some reason, I did not receive a username. Anyone else in this same boat?

Thanks, acw1213! I received the "guest password." But, what's the username?

You should have received a "guest password" for TWEN. When you get to the log-in page there should be a box below the normal log on space for you to enter it.

You nerds ready for this write-on? I can't believe I'm actually about to do another one of these. I spent 2 weeks writing my little heart out for my old school's write-on for nothing....fml

You don't need a username. Just enter your guest password in the box that I circled in red below. Hope that helps!

Curve goes up to around a 3.4 from around a 3.2 1L year. NALP shows 3.394 for median.

I think it would seem easier to jump into the top 1/3 as a transfer than now since you're starting out with a 3.4 median rather than a 3.2 from the year before like the rest of the class.

FML, I probably won't be able to make it. I think I will be moving out that weekend.

It's in the packet - I believe it said the weekend of July 14-15. If you don't hear back by that Sunday evening, the answer is no.
Good luck, you guys.

Hey there everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster. I figured it's time to climb out of the closet and join my fellow GW Transfers! I'll also be starting this Fall, and I am looking forward to living in D.C. and meeting new people! Though, I echo above sentiments in that another orientation would probably be the worst thing I could imagine. I would rather chew on glass.

Though, to be fair, some of the best friends I have from my current school I met through orientation....the dreadful evil of Orientation has the effect of bringing people together!

Again, all the best to you guys in whatever you are doing for the summer, and see you in August at GW! =D

Has anyone heard how soon we get our loan money? Just wondering how long I'll need to live in cardboard box, etc.

I presume transfer $ is no different than everyone else's, so the answer is "officially" the Friday before school starts for fall semester. (During the first week of 1L classes, just before 2L/3L classes start.) GW switched to direct deposit last year and I feel like at least spring money came a few days earlier than first Friday, but I don't remember whether fall didn't and I wouldn't count on it.

If you're a super-late transfer I suppose you might get pushed back a bit, but if so I'd ask financial aid.
