Worth the app.

Definitely.

I see multiple people on the yahoo group from T4s who got into GULC. Prob not EA but RD is def doable. I'm at a T3, and I'm going to apply to GULC and GWU EA for the hell of it.

Honestly I'd blanket all of the transfer friendly T14s if I were you (CCN, MP[V if from Virginia], D, GULC). You're in a spot where you'll probably have very unpredictable results.

hey all, advice plz: 3.5 at TT, top 10%, worth the EA and (hopeful) eventual deposit?
I am thinking I I should just wait for the year grades.
Thanks for your help!

I've got my EA application ready to go, but I'm still considering whether Georgetown is worth all the debt I'd incur.

What is your current situation?

T40, $20k/y tuition (no scholarship), 3.76 gpa (they don't rank)

I am in a very similar situation. Its tough, because I would be totally content staying at my school and in my state.

I should add that I wouldn't have to move. I'd add about another 10 minutes to my school commute.

You might as well apply and make the final decision when you have an option.

I mean, put in a transfer app and see if you can't leverage a scholarship or something. I think the GPA like that at a T1 school is a pretty good place to be (I'm assuming Mason?). If it is Mason and you're a VA resident too, hold off on the GULC app and try for UVA. You may have a chance as a VA resident and it'd be cheaper than Georgetown too.

For EA Georgetown applicants, do they have to submit all the same things that regular admission applicants would have to? Like would they have to go and get a letter of rec and all that stuff before March?

Also, I was wondering on what the chances were for Georgetown in EA vs regular admissions. Do they have a higher acceptance ratio for one of them? I am interested in applying, but am wondering if it is worth it to rush through my application, get my letters of rec now just to apply for EA, or if I should just wait til June. Advice?

Yes, you need all the same materials as regular decision. And looking through EA threads from 2010 and 2011, they don't take a ton of people EA. Usually only those who would stand a chance of getting into better T14s in RD (Seems most ultimately pulled out and transferred to those other T14s as well). So, honestly, it doesn't seem like it should be too much of a rush to apply EA but if you really really want GULC and are near the top of your class, then do it. That said, not sure what your stats are, but I know with my ~10% standing I'm more than likely getting deferred if not rejected. It seems like you need to be <5% at a TT or better to get EA.

Well just saw that my application went complete recently. Anyone else?

Also haven't heard much from this thread lately so I figured I'd bump it up

So, my LOR is showing up on the status checker, but under letter signed, it says NO. Er, what? :?
My professor mailed it directly to the school instead of through LSAC, so maybe he was supposed to sign the envelope or something?
Anyone have this come up before and know whether it's a problem? I can e-mail GULC, but figured I'd try here first since their admin people are likely super busy right now.
Thanks!

He only has to sign the envelope if you are listed on the return address or something like that. BUT he always has to sign the letter itself. That's probably your problem. Did you get a copy of the letter?

It does!

As far as whether the professor signed the letter, I would be really surprised if he didn't. I didn't ask for a copy because I thought we weren't supposed to see copies of our LORs. I guess I'll just e-mail GULC to ask if I need to do anything and if so, what.

When you apply through CAS, do you have the option of telling them to wait on an outstanding LoR that you will be submitting through the CAS?

All my LORs are there but still waiting for "complete status" - going to call them tomorrow and check it out.
