If you are applying to transfer, do the LORs from your professors have to be school specific or can they just be general LORs? I understand it might be worthwhile to have them tailored to the school if your professor is an alumni, but I don't know how I feel about asking my professors to write a specific LOR and not be able to use it for my other transfer apps.
Also, if anyone has any input on transferring from UH to UT or above (I'm well within top 5%), please let me know! Thanks in advance.

Re: Question re: LOR
Ask for a specific LoR for transferring to UT. Ask for a generic one for the rest.brose wrote:If you are applying to transfer, do the LORs from your professors have to be school specific or can they just be general LORs? UT's transfer class is such high competition, a generic letter (and they know one when they see it) may signal to them that UT isn't necessarily your top choice (even though it may be).
All of mine were general LoRs except for one from a prof who attended the school I was applying to. I transferred from NYLS to BostonU.
Hope that helps, good luck!

Re: Question re: LOR
Yeah, the mission will be to find a professor from UT. I had one last semester, but I don't know if he'd be too keen on me transferring. Thanks for your help!Coolgrnmen wrote:
