I appreciate the honesty. So, I have better chances at GULC than UT-USC?flcath wrote:

Re: Chance me - Top 10%
GULC is incredibly easy to get into. I know a couple ppl at ND who have grades marginally above median and who have already gotten GULC acceptances. (If you're paying close to full freight at ND, why not test the transfer waters, right?)ryantl2121 wrote:I appreciate the honesty. So, I have better chances at GULC than UT-USC?flcath wrote:

Check what UT's policy is w/r/t in-state residents; I know that's a huge hang-up at UVA.

OP, you never know what a little initiative can do. Show genuine interest in your target school, maybe even visit the dean of admissions if it is feasible. The advice given on this forum is well-meaning and often fed by experience, but it's not Gospel truth. Apply higher than GULC anyway.

Re: Chance me - Top 10%
UT usually takes very few transfers, and I think they are usually from other Texas law schools (I don't have data to back up the second claim though).

Re: Chance me - Top 10%
the magic # I always hear for CCN is "top 5%". Maybe an amazing rec from a heavy hitter prof could put you over though.

Edit: I should clarify: we don't rank, but I'm talking 3.4x type GPAs (and an "almost 3.4") at a school where the median is 3.23. So I dunno what you'd consider that...
