Boalt Transfer Thread for Fall 2011 Forum

A forum for those current students who are or may be transferring from one school to another. Post any questions, advice, or other transfer related comments here.

Anonymous Posting

Anonymous posting is only available to the creator of each thread. The anonymous posting feature is intended to permit the solicitation of anonymous advice regarding the transfer application process, chances of being accepted, etc. Unacceptable uses include: testing the feature, questions which are clearly fake or hypothetical in nature, harassing other users, etc. Posters should also read and understand the announcements posted at the top of the Transfers forum prior to using the anonymous feature.

Failure to follow these rules will get you outed, warned, or banned.

I think it was someone referring to a trend they noticed reviewing last year's threads, but it wasn't 100% the case...

I don't think it's a good enough rule to swear by (unlike GULC username/password = acceptance, which I would swear by) but it's nonetheless something for our anxious selves to obsess over.

The 5 calendar days thing comes from the fact that people who got initial offers were told to accept or decline by July 5. That doesn't mean anyone's out, though; my guess is that Berkeley will make more offers after that based on how many people decline.

Just got accepted via email from the dean of admissions! Went under review 6/17. He responded to an email I sent him expressing a compelling need to know ASAP. He said the official notice will be coming out w/in 48 hours...so I expect that means a batch will be coming soon.

That officially re-lifts my spirits. Dammit. Don't know if I can take it much longer.

The checker's all I've got during the work day. Personal e-mail blocked from work. Don't have a smartphone. Can't forward my e-mails to my work account. So, even though it won't tell me anything, I guess I'll still compulsively refresh the checker.

I spoke to Admissions, they said that they should have 95% of their decisions made by Tuesday.
