Probably a number that within a certain degree of confidence Berkeley was able to predict, meaning even those that declined did not necessarily open up slots. There would have to be an unpredictably large decline rate for new slots to open up...and it may just have easily been the other way.ulhg182 wrote:i'm thinking we'll start finding out one way or another today...Nacirema wrote:I wondering how many did not accept the July 5th deadline...

Sadly, this is probably true.Regionality wrote:Probably a number that within a certain degree of confidence Berkeley was able to predict, meaning even those that declined did not necessarily open up slots. I'm not so sure. I've heard of no actual rejections so far, which leads me to think that at least some slots could potentially open up. Otherwise, why keep all our files under review for the last couple of weeks?FireNextTime wrote:Sadly, this is probably true.Regionality wrote:Probably a number that within a certain degree of confidence Berkeley was able to predict, meaning even those that declined did not necessarily open up slots. Well, shit. "A decision has been reached."
Now I gotta wait to see what it is, even though I know. Stupid work e-mail policies.

+1. Though I'm not all that upset. I have zero connections to California.lawfuture10 wrote:Look up above -- it says on mine that I was rejectedFireNextTime wrote:Well, shit. "A decision has been reached."

Ah. My inattention to detail is probably just one of the many things that counted against me.lawfuture10 wrote:Look up above -- it says on mine that I was rejectedFireNextTime wrote:Well, shit. "A decision has been reached."

Re: Boalt Transfer Thread for Fall 2011
Honestly, I'm pretty surprised, but I'm not too upset. I think I would have been more stressed out having to commit without knowing if I was accepted elsewhere yet. Hopefully one of the other three will work out for me.

Re: Boalt Transfer Thread for Fall 2011
Is anyone planning on doing the California Law Review write-on? I'm not thinking it's going to be possible with my summer job and how busy I am-- I like the idea of walking on to the secondary journal. It still satisfies the "Journal" requirement for a job, but much less stressful. Plus I've no interest in academia (though I suppose it might hurt my clerkship possibilities?)
Thoughts?

I'd do it. I mean, we've put ourselves through a lot in order to be in the best position possible for hiring/the future. Why stop short at this point? I'm pretty written out at this point, but am planning to work on it around my externship schedule.

Any Boalt transfers looking for apartments or roommates? I'm a 22yr male looking for other males (preferably). Let me know.

Re: Boalt Transfer Thread for Fall 2011
There is not one specific area students live. The bus lines are efficient so if you are close to a route that runs to campus you can live pretty much anywhere. Elmwood is quiet but beyond boring, South Berk is a more aggressive scene, North Campus is also pretty quiet and sounds like most people enjoy it.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
