i hear UB doesnt rank.. but is there a curve? or do you have a general idea of where you fall in the class? just saying a 3.5 doesnt help much

They just instituted a new policy which lists the benchmarks for the top 5,10,15,20,25 percentiles for each class. My class doesn't get benchmarks until after the spring semester. I would fall in the top 20 percent of the Class of 2011, and top 25 percent of the class of 2012.

Where do you want to practice? Also, how debt averse are you? Because all of those schools are going to be substantially more expensive than UB, especially if you're able to get scholarship money out of UB for 2L and 3L.

okay well that info should help others to help you.. im not too up to speed on transfer stats.. however id cross Brooklyn and Cardozo off your list.. not worth the massive debt that you would have to take on there for their job prospects when compared to UB's low tuition.. the others on your list someone else will have to help with tho

This. I'd take Fordham off as well. Transfer students do not get to participate in EIW (the bulk of OCI for biglaw). As to the other schools, why transfer to those particular schools?

I'm really looking for biglaw. I have no real geographical preferences. Do I have a shot at Fordham? If I do, would I be severely disadvantaged in the OCIs?

top 25% at Fordham doesnt even get biglaw.. so top 25% at UB transfer to Fordham definitely doesnt.. improve your grades at buff and make some connections with firms there is my advice.. esp. if you have the in state tuition

biglaw is likely out of the picture though.. sorry

A hallmark feature of TLS, IMO. Srsly though, no one should tell you that biglaw is impossible. That's clearly not the case. But I would advise against taking out the extra student loans to roll the dice at any of the schools you mentioned in your OP. I agree with the post above who said you should bust your ass at Buffalo, cultivate contacts with professors which might land you a clerkship and go from there. Or shoot for midlaw.

Whatever happens, don't bank on biglaw as a transfer student. Even at a T14. Especially not at Fordham.
