Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
Per last years thread they took people off the waitlist the last week of July (I don't know about after that). I wonder how they manage an unranked waitlist?ms2010 wrote:No other options...BruinsFan wrote:Are you going to wait it out?ms2010 wrote:+1BruinsFan wrote:Waitlisted by email. I'm also at complete, but I don't remember the exact date. I'm just assuming it's a ding, unfortunately.SpencerPratt wrote:Still complete as of 7/1. Very confused.

Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
Scratch that last post - just got an email from them saying that they held onto my application because they had a deposit deadline, and wanted to touch base to get an idea of my level of commitment in attending Georgetown. The email said that the committee will be meeting by Friday and will give out decisions by Monday, August 1 at the latest.

Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
Thanks for the info. Maybe staying complete means they may take us depending on the amount of deposits they receive?KafkaLover wrote:Scratch that last post - just got an email from them saying that they held onto my application because they had a deposit deadline, and wanted to touch base to get an idea of my level of commitment in attending Georgetown. Yeah it's really weird, but that was the vibe I got from the email. It seems like remaining complete is some kind of unofficial waitlist on top of their official waitlist, which is clearly insane (but awesome, because I really want Gtown).

Gotcha. Hopefully I'll get that same email, but looking at your older posts, you seem to be in a much better position. I'm in at UMD (2nd choice due to in-state) and still waiting on GW (probably tied for 2nd choice), but hoping for Gtown. Good luck.

Good luck to you too, hopefully this will work out for both of us.SpencerPratt wrote:Gotcha. Do you mean the official waitlist or the unofficial "we are just waiting to review your application until after a deposit deadline" waitlist? ha?pretzels wrote:from your previous posts, am I correct that top 40% at a low ranked T1 got you on the waitlist? jesus, how long is this list?SpencerPratt wrote:waitlisted

Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
I'm beginning to wonder if GULC will be taking anyone off the waitlist this year. I, too, received an email early last week saying they thought a "few spots" would open up and asking to affirm interest. I may need to commit to another school and get books ordered for class, etc.

Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
Just to make an observation... they like having two-tiered WLs in regular admissions, too. When I applied they had their standard WL and then a special "priority WL". It seems silly to have a "priority WL" for transfers since it's such a short timeframe, so my guess is the "remaining complete" is a sort of "soft" backup WL.KafkaLover wrote:Yeah it's really weird, but that was the vibe I got from the email. Also, a lot of schools don't even have a transfer WL, let alone a large one.

Has anyone made it in off the waitlist yet? Anyone know if they take people right up to orientation? I would assume so - if they have an open spot, why not cash another tuition check.

Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
I got in off the waitlist last week. I received an email asking me to commit to Georgetown on July 25th, and then I was accepted on the 27th. FYI, I'm PT and I was top 10% at a school in the 40s.
