Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
Yeah, last year I could access the site within a few days of it saying decision rendered, or updated (I can't remember). But you have to somehow create a username to do it. I didn't realize that at first and I didn't think that I had gotten in. So explore the site and see if you can somehow create a username/PW for the admitted student site. Maybe it had to do with my status checker?
Oh, and for those of you who are auto admits, have fun shelling out nearly $2,000 to hold your seat. I had to do that before I heard anything from my reaches. And, congrats if this is it!

I had my status change yesterday, but I can't seem to log in the sneaky way to the admitted students page. How long after your online status change did you receive an email/snail mail?
I'm top 1% at a top 70 law school, so I am hoping my status change means I got in but am not sure.

Is everyone sure that this means an "acceptance" or is this just pre-under review back end process?Coolgrnmen wrote:That's what I'm guessing...what happened in last year's thread? Weekly waves?maf70 wrote:so im assuming the next wave probably won't be until next week?

This means probably an acceptance according to ppl's best educated guesses...lsltyf wrote:Is everyone sure that this means an "acceptance" or is this just pre-under review back end process?Coolgrnmen wrote:That's what I'm guessing...what happened in last year's thread? Come on, of course it doesn't mean for sure anything-- it's a status date update!!!

Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
I don't think it means accepted, but it does let you know that they are looking at your application and you'll be getting some kind of decision shortly. Knowing that they are at least looking at your profile is at least some kind of update that I would love, but I don't think it means you're accepted until you actually get the letter stating that you are.lsltyf wrote:Is everyone sure that this means an "acceptance" or is this just pre-under review back end process?Coolgrnmen wrote:That's what I'm guessing...what happened in last year's thread? Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
Hey all, I am a little late to this discussion, but I am like all of you who's status changed to 4/18 yesterday and then to 4/20 today, despite still saying Application Complete. Also, I too got one of those emails asking for what courses I am taking this semester (and like you all it scared me to death!). Here is hoping we find out something soon!

Re: Georgetown EA 2011 Thread
So application updates seem to be:
1. "Application Complete" date has changed to 4/18 (though still just says "application complete"). Generally happened to ppl @ T1/low T2 schools w/ high GPA.
2. "Application Complete" date has changed from 4/18 to 4/20 (though still just says "application complete"). (What are the stats of ppl whom this happened to??)
3. Emails to various students asking for 2nd semester courses. (this happened to me [T3/3.912]--what are the stats of other ppl whom this happened to?)
There seem to be a lot of people w/ 1, a few people with 1 & 2, and fewer people with 1 & 3. Only one person w/ 1 & 2 & 3.
I'm guessing:
1 = those people whom they do not need further info from to make a decision (i.e. 2nd semester courses); most likely EA admits based on stats of ppl whom this happened to.
2 = people whom they did not need further info from (the 4/18 update) & who now have been decided whether to admit EA or not (the 4/20 update); need stats from ppl to confirm this.
3 = people who are/were teetering on getting in EA or being deferred, because if you were either being for sure deferred or rejected, they wouldn't need to know right now what your spring courses are.

I wonder if Corey is reading this thread and LOLing at the mass hysteria that these updates have created.

Where does that leave us with a reasonable chance of admission who are still sitting at Complete 3/16?

I'm complete 3/4.
Also - i have a friend who works at Admissions at my current school who told me for a fact that the admissions office spends every morning reading through all TLS related posts.

I am with you up to #3. I don't see how the courses you are taking this semester will impact whether they let you in or not? I am the person with 1, 2, & 3 and I am at a T50 school with a 3.91. I am hoping you aren't right !
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
