I've heard, by the by, that they have started to send our rejections already (via e-mail). Scary.

^^ In Philadelphia, on the 18th floor. The judge is very short. I got an A on the baked good exam, an A on the exam I walked into 45 minutes late for. But Property went poorly, which I knew when I took it. Not every exam can be written to my liking, I suppose. Anyway a couple people are ahead of me now.

I would like the opportunity to transfer, but I'm not 100% convinced that it will be worth it to give up scholly dollies. Opinions?
In the event that I am actually accepted, I will take a hard look at what my OCI options would be there versus at my present school. If any who have gone before us in transferring cruise by this thread, please enlighten us on how OCI went for you/other transfers.
Thx!

Re: Duke Transfers!!
If you have law review at a T25, then I would say it's absolutely not worth it to transfer to Duke. But you should know that I am competing with you for a Duke acceptance, so take my opinion as it should be taken.run26.2 wrote:T25

Re: Duke Transfers!!
I did make LR, and I think it is a sought-after credential. However, I also think LR missing on a resume is overcome by one or more recent publications. Seeking to be published would be a top priority.Bankhead wrote:If you have law review at a T25, then I would say it's absolutely not worth it to transfer to Duke. Re: Duke Transfers!!
But I thought that in order to be taken seriously enough to be published, law review is almost a prerequisite. Also, I'm really strictly talking about OCI. By the time you get published, barring something you haven't told me, would be after OCI whereas you'd be T25, T10% + LR at your current school.
I really have no idea what your goals/intentions are though, so it's kind of a moot point. Good luck with Duke, I'd say your odds are quite high.

^^ I don't think it's necessarily the case that you need to be on a law review to get published. Besides which, Duke has a number of good secondary journals OP could join to burnish his credentials.

^Good point about the secondaries. I guess it also depends on what T25 you go to. I could think of at least one school between 20-25 where it would definitely be worth the Duke upgrade -- and at least another where it absolutely wouldn't.

Interested in which schools you would say definitely are/are not worth the jump.Bankhead wrote:^Good point about the secondaries. I guess it also depends on what T25 you go to. And I'd say my odds are ok but not high (10-15% maybe??). I think (I have no real basis for knowing but just generalizing from what I've seen on transferapps) schools in the T14 tend to pick students that are very close to the top of their class, like top 5%. Plus, I'm something of a pessimist, which helps me stay happy. If it happens, great, if not I knew it from the start!

I would wager that Bankhead was referring to U Minn and GW
