Waitlisted also (4:30 PM EST). Duke is the only school I applied to transfer to so if I am offered a spot, I will definitely be taking it! File still says under review.

Stats, if you two don't mind? I'm kind of curious as to just how demanding they are this year.

Also waitlisted. T2-3% at T40. In other words, Tray, they are VERY demanding this year.

Oh, well those are about my numbers. I guess when they're admitting so few people (15, right?), while they still can't realistically only take t5% applicants from t25 schools and up, because most of them will get in to t6 schools, they can afford to be pretty selective amongst applicants in their ballpark, and decide on the basis of essays, recommendations, softs, stuff.

Yep. It's amazing that they literally might have taken just the 1 top applicant from each school from T14-T30, and that would fill the number of offers they could give. But right, who knows how they selected? (It's such a small number, maybe all acceptances already went out and we wouldn't know on TLS? But maybe more are to come.) And who knows who big this waitlist is?

If they just took the 1 top applicant from each school they might not get anyone, as the top applicants were largely probably trying to use Duke as a transfer safety.

True, but what can a school do with such applicants? Schools can't straight up reject them, obviously...Waitlist them?

Admit then, I'm sure. But my point is, it isn't as if there's this high numerical cutline above which you get in and below which you don't; they're making random holistic choices if you're in a certain range, with auto admits and auto rejects above and below.

I'm sure that it's very tough for them to deny the top applicants from each school. They may be making holistic choices, but most likely those choices are reserved for three to four spots, max.

I think these waitlists are just an excuse to buy them more time because so many people weren't complete yet. lol did no one from this thread actually get in? Where is that run26 guy maybe he got in?
