NU has optional essays. I answered the questions in their optional essays in my PS. Think it looks bad to not do any of the optionals?

Re: Northwestern
you did the optional essays by including the answers in your ps. i did the same. don't see how it could hurt.chitown825 wrote:NU has optional essays. I answered the questions in their optional essays in my PS. Think it looks bad to not do any of the optionals?

Any of you guys received emails from NU asking for what is missing so they can complete your file?

Haven't submitted yet. Will do tonight. My dean's letter will be right against the deadline, probably.

Re: Northwestern
NU has been a little slower processing apps than I would like. My status checker has been on "incomplete" for over a week, and when I just called this morning they said that my app. has been complete for almost a week. I hope they get decisions out quicker than they update status checkers.

Do you guys think 2 years is enough to be competitive? I know they say 60% of the class has 3 or more years.

Re: Northwestern
I have zero. Northwestern is my super-reach, but it's my dream school so it's worth the app fee. I grew up next to campus.
Edit: I'm done for. My dean and his secretary took the second half of June off for vacation. No letter for me.

Yeah I'm currently in the frantic process of calling each school and asking if a registrar letter is acceptable.EffMy1L wrote:What about the registrar?chitown825 wrote:Edit: I'm done for. My dean and his secretary took the second half of June off for vacation. No letter for me.

Hahaha you are asking the guys with 1 and 0 years, yet still applied. Obviously we think we have a chance, what do you think we are going to say to you?Bankhead wrote:Do you guys think 2 years is enough to be competitive? I know they say 60% of the class has 3 or more years.

Let me know what they say, I might just have that done since my office has already taken 2 + weekschitown825 wrote:Yeah I'm currently in the frantic process of calling each school and asking if a registrar letter is acceptable.EffMy1L wrote:What about the registrar?chitown825 wrote:Edit: I'm done for. Re: Northwestern
I talked to my current school's registrar and they said "All those requests the dean gets come down to us anyway." Northwestern told me registrar letter OK. My other target school said "your school will tell you who should write it in the absence of the dean, whatever they give us is fine."
Sounds like I'm alright.
P.S. 2 years of work experience makes you very competitive

How many LORs are you all sending? They want one, and the application asks for the name of your "recommender." Anybody sending multiples?

Quick question...Does NU have a status checker and how long does it take to get access to that if there is one?
