I am currently at Catholic (#98 scared to death to fall in to the T3 as we have dropped from 88 in 2 years) in DC approx top 18% with law review. I recently was accepted at W&L with a seat deposit due next friday, an expensive seat deposit. My question is, obviously I am hoping from an admit from a higher school but if my option was between W&L and Catholic + LR what would you choose?

Congratulations on making law review. This is a close call, but if I were you I would stay at Catholic. Did they offer you a partial scholarship?

In at Hastings College of the Law! High T2 / Top 5%. App submitted on 7/1, Complete on 7/7 and Decision on 7/9! So happy right now. I'm expecting near a dozen rejections in the coming weeks, so this acceptance feels great!

I had a 1/3 scholarship coming in and they offered me the same for the next two years.

Well, it's highly like you won't get big law in either situation, so the question is what do you want to do for work?

I'd probably transfer. It seems to me that LR write ons are less prestigeous, but I could be wrong.

Yea, I understand that I am not in the perfect place for employment but it could be worse. I really am open to pretty much any legal job after graduation: state clerkship, small/mid size law firm, state prosecutor, or government. Just hoping to be employed really, I enjoy law school and my summer internships with Judges this summer so, just want to make a smart decision for my future career prospects not based on OCI, which I know staying or going is near a 0% chance.

We have a competion that is a percentage of grades and a percentage of write on. We don't have "grade on" for law review.

Congrats, but with those stats you will probably be getting into a T14.

Dinged at Duke today...but got into Emory. Just waiting on UCLA, and am 95% sure im going to WUSTL. Thus, will be withdrawing acceptances from Minn, ND, and Emory, hope this helps others out, especially A'nold!

Congrats on Emory (even with the withdraw), good luck at UCLA (even if you go to WUSTL), thanks for withdrawing (even though I didn't apply to any of those schools, just the right thing to do), sorry about Duke (how did they notify you?)

Haha, thanks mapnoren. We really did apply to a lot of the same schools huh? I did my part by uh....sucking enough to get rejected at UCLA! I totally opened a spot up for you.

Edit: btw- did you find out about Emory and the others via email? Thanks.

Update for record:

Stats: Top 1%/mid20s school
Applied: HYSCCNBG
In: B (6/17) ; G (6/23) - withdrew; N (7/7)
Complete: HYSCC

Good luck, everyone. Should get a lot of movement in the next two weeks.

Out at Notre Dame. That one, I'm guessing, was probably at least in part the product of the wolf-in-sheep's-clothing LOR offered and provided by a Dean here.

Ironically, I'm off to a Catholic wedding party. I'll drown my sorrows in the only balm that can soothe this sting - bridesmaids :).

T-4 (Thurgood Marshall Law School)

Top 12%

Transfer Attempts:

University of Houston Law Center #59 (Will know next week)

UT-Austin #15 (Long Shot but I have to try)

Texas Tech T-3 (Everyone says that I'll be in easily but who knows)

I really hate my school; anyone 0Ls out there...if you are accepted to other private schools with a higher price tag and left with another school like this one CHOOSE the higher price tag law school.

In at George Washington Friday afternoon via e-mail at 3:50. GW have me until July 15th to submit a $500 seat deposit. Only waiting on GULC now. Hopefully I'll have a decision before the 15th...

Good luck! Sorry to hear about your experiences with TSU. I know many people that went there, and only one is happy with her decision. Congrats on doing well during your first year.

Here's what I'm deciding between right now. I'm definitely leaning in one direction but am interested to see what others would do in my shoes.

Option A: T30, top 12%, law review. School does well in the local, secondary market in which I want to work. Can graduate debt free with money in the bank.

Option B: Michigan. Would have to go into debt (approximately $70k).

I have no desire to work in NYC, Chicago, DC, etc. I want a federal clerkship and either big law or a boutique firm.

Thanks!

I would stay without question.
