I am having a HELL of a time getting the letters of good standing. The process at our school is actually incredibly easy as you just have to submit a form online (and the $$$$) and they get sent out. Easy as that. But I ordered mine over two weeks ago and 5 out of 6 have still yet to be sent. I have spoken to the office both in person and email numerous times and left voicemails for them. I keep asking for them for some kind of assurance that they will simply confirm with me when they send them so I can stop bothering them and they just say "your letters will be processed soon" - great!

I guess I just wanted to vent a bit. Anyone else had/having this problem? Any ideas to expedite the process? I am worried I am just pissing them off being such a nuisance and 1) the letters will suck or something or 2) they will wait as long as possible just to spite me. (If you cant tell, I am completely paranoid about this stuff)

Northwestern in particular sent an email asking when the letter would arrive so they could complete my file. When I told them the situation adn asked if the end of the week would be okay, I never received a reply. Anyone had this happen/know what to make of that?

As posted earlier
Top 10-15%, t40 school

Applied: W&M, W&L, Duke, GWU, UVA, GULC, and Berkeley (long shot)

Update:
Acceptance: Berkeley
I had to listen to the message three times and I called my friend just to make sure he wasn't pranking me. Just about crapped myself.

I have, sad as it may seem, applied to Berkeley 5 times in my life for various things from undergrad to law school transfer. I like to believe they saw my application and said "Oh Christ, this guy again? We have an entire filing cabinet dedicated to him. Hell, just send him an acceptance already."

Just an update on the LSAC situation since my 12 day transcript had some people concerned: my LOR was mailed days later and posted at almost the same time making it ~7 days for the letter. So.. LORs may be posting quicker?

Well, there we have it then. Thankfully my stuff is now all in, looking forward to getting some 'complete' emails finally.

Does anyone know if Harvard does phone interviews for transfers?

You might want to try Emory or Vanderbilt if you're interested in practicing in Florida. Your grades will likely get you in.

For those applying to t14 schools and/or have done research on the subject or got in places last year....

Do you think we will hear back starting next week or will it be that first full week in July?

Judging by the '09 transferapps data, T6 acceptances started rolling out the week after the July 4th holiday. Mid-lower T14 seems to vary with some acceptances as early as the last week in June.

Of course, there are only a few data points so who knows if they were really the first wave of decisions.

Yeah I don't understand this. #3 at T4 should be looking at higher schools than UF, I think.

Several reasons:
*I am tied to North Florida for economic reasons.
*My wife and son would not be able to move with me if I went out of the area.
*I am 37 years old, I do not really feel like going 80K in additional debt when I can get instate tuition for 12K per year. If i were ten years younger, I possibly could justify it.
*As it stands, I have a pretty good "hookup" into BIGlaw already.
*Sleeping in my own bed in a house that I own free and clear and taking my son to soccer practice with his lifelong friends is appealing.

Thanks for the confidence boost everyone, but UF is my goal.

Makes sense...

But instate tuition is going to be upwards of 16.5k next year, just FYI.

Just submitted my applications:

~Top 3-5% T15-25 School. Apps sent to Harvard & Chicago.

Do I have a decent shot and/or can I also expect to hear in early July if I just submitted today?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
