Based off the College of Law website, we have to pay for all of our printing. That doesn't seem right. Does anyone know if this is true. My undergrad gave us a balance of pages then if you went over that you would have to pay for prints, and the law school had free, unlimited printing. The law library at Iowa charges 10 cents a page! That could get really expensive.

Actually our guide said that if you print out of lexus nexus or another place like that (forget the name), it's free. Personal printing is 10 cents in the law library, and 5 cents in the undergrad.

Oh hey whats up guys, lol.

Winters suck in the Midwest, no doubt. I'm used to walking, as opposed to riding a bike or driving, and it won't kill you, as long as its just a 10-15 minute walk. Obviously driving would be nice, but parking permits for the law school are kind of expensive I think, like between $400-500, if I remember correctly. I guess there is a church parking lot you can find some spots, and is referred to as the God Lot, and that is only like a 5 min walk to the law school I think.

What's up with the apartments like, right by Seville? Anyone have any information on those? I liked Seville and it is relatively cheap, but I have heard a few bad things that would make me hesitant.

Has Iowa released employment stats for the class of 2009 yet? Do you think I could email them at career services and get some info?

They gave them out at the ASD. I don't think they're available online though. I have it typed up if you want me to email it.

Hey guys, I haven't posted on here really (lurker,) but I decided for sure on Iowa. I have a car and am in the process of buying a house on Benton St. I plan on walking most of the time, but would definitely be down to drive on nasty weather days, especially if people would chip in for gas... If anyone would be interested in carpooling (maybe splitting the cost for a parking sticker?.)

Hey everyone, also a lurker. Good chance I'm at Iowa in the fall.

Could someone please reiterate the best way(s) to obtain in-state tuition in 2L and 3L? I know that RAing is an option, does TAing help as well?

Welcome to the party, haha. Yes, being a TA for an undergraduate course would also qualify you for resident tuition, I believe.

But from what they told us in ASW, while TA'ing pays more it's also more time consuming. The people who end up being TA's aren't really into other stuff like Law Journals and moot court. So you have to take your pick of what you find most important.

It's really not that bad since they said that there are abundant RA positions. Unless you really want to be a TA, i don't really see much of a plus side to being one.

plus being an RA has the added benefit of a resume/letter of rec/personal relationship with a prof boost
