Group G. I'm getting back from Chicago on the 11th or 12th and would be up for drinks then.

Group E
I'll be down for drinks after I get into town (12th)
Speaking of, for those of you who've already moved, what have you found bed/furniture-wise (assuming some of you have had to buy the like)?

Re: IOWA 2013
I'm in group O, which stands for [O]bvious effort to break up TLS users at orientation.
I'm pretty much all moved in, just a few more things to do with the parents tomorrow then I'm set. If anyone needs help feel free to ask, I'm at the Seville apartments but I'll come out anywhere if ya need help.
Another meetup this weekend perhaps??

Anyone want to grab a drink at the Blue Moose tonight around 9PM? If that doesn't work, I'm also free on Sunday.

I might be up for a couple drinks tonight if I'm not too tired. Where's Blue Moose at?JOThompson wrote:Anyone want to grab a drink at the Blue Moose tonight around 9PM? If that doesn't work, I'm also free on Sunday.

I'm horrible at directions but it's in the ped mall at 211 Iowa Ave. If you get lost, you can text me at 503-887-8713 and I'll try to provide better directions. http://www.bluemooseic.com/traehekat wrote:I might be up for a couple drinks tonight if I'm not too tired. I'll be the tall guy with glasses in a navy striped polo. Hope to see you there

Cool, I think we'll drop by then. I just hope we can all miraculously identify each other, lol.

Re: IOWA 2013
I still have a basement to rent in a house right by the law school parking lot. I posted about it earlier in the thread and another TLS'er may be interested, but I'm posting it again in case he decides to rent elsewhere.
The home is in a fantastic location, and you definitely would not need to buy a parking pass. You'd rent the basement and have shared use of the kitchen and bathroom upstairs. The house is really nice. The kitchen has stone tile countertops and stainless steel appliances. Just my wife and I live here. We are expecting a child next month, so if that scares you off I just wanted to let you know up front. If you set your bed up on the opposite end of the house in the basement, you'd likely sleep through about anything going on upstairs.
The basement is semi-finished (waterproof painted) and in good condition. It is a very large space, upwards of 1000 sq. feet. It has plenty of dedicated outlets, vents, and lights. There is a lockable door at the top of the stairs for privacy. There is a washer and dryer in the basement. You'd have the option of chipping in on DirecTV if you'd like a receiver to use downstairs (I will be getting NFL Sunday Ticket as well). We do have high-speed internet with Qwest already set up. The house is move-in ready right now!
The yard/lot is fantastic, surrounded by hedges with a really private feel. The house is walking distance from the law school, Kinnick, and Hungry Hobo/The Wedge/gas station.
We're asking $400 per month plus 1/3rd of any utility you will be using. I think it's a really good price and could fill it quickly on Craigslist, but I'm holding out to try to get a fellow law student before I go that route!

Re: IOWA 2013
Meet up the other night was a success, except for not finding jaskat and roommate, and forgetting which garage we parked the car in at the end of the night, lol. We'll have to do it again at least once before orientation starts up, for sure.

We were there and realized we didn't know what anyone looked like really, lol. We still had a good time; the band that was playing was quite decent. Maybe next time.

Hey, so I totally brought The Paper Chase with me on VHS. If anyone has a VCR I saw we watch it Sat., Aug. 13 and drink every time we regret going to law school.
Thoughts?
(btw, i'm totally serious about doing this)
