Re: Colorado Class of 2013
I logged onto CUConnect the other day and way able to view and accept/decline my financial aid, so I'm thinking that it'll just take some time before all the entering students can do the same.

Ah, good to know. Even though I already submitted my deposit, I am a bit anxious about whether or not I'll get a scholarship. Do you think that calling the Admissions Office to ask about a potential scholarship would help? Or just be a waste of time?Pufer wrote:Scholarships always come through at the last possible minute, so don't worry if yours hasn't shown up yet. It probably won't until sometime in August.

Re: Colorado Class of 2013
I called and asked about scholarships a few weeks before the first deposits were due and I didn’t really get much info. I was basically told that if I get a scholarship then they will let me know. Then I sent them a scholarship negotiation email about 10 days before the original first deposits were due. I didn’t get a response but I still sent my deposit. I got a scholarship about 10 days after that.doza wrote:Ah, good to know. Even though I already submitted my deposit, I am a bit anxious about whether or not I'll get a scholarship. Even if it's a waste of time, I think you should try something for peace of mind if nothing else.

Re: Colorado Class of 2013
Good to see I'm no the only one having trouble with MyCUinfo. I think they sent out all the "view your financial aid" e-mails at one time despite not having everyone's online account up and running. For what it's worth, one of the IT people I spoke with said that graduate students' info is only uploaded once a week on Fridays.
I'm a little surprised at all the grumbling about un-returned e-mails. I've sent quite a few e-mails about different things and got a response within a day or so every time. They didn't always have a definitive answer for me, but the overall communication was really good.

Why Erie? There's not much out there and it's about a half hour commute from the school, but I'd imagine it's less expensive than Boulder. Not saying it's a bad choice, just curious about the decision.

Well...our place isn't really in the town (technically it is). It's kind of between Lafayette and Erie. In fact, though it's within Erie city limits, I think it's actually closer to Lafayette...yellowfin wrote:adora wrote:Found a place in Erie yesterday! Can't wait to move!

It's right off of Baseline. Good access to bus lines. And by car, it was only about 20 minutes to the law school. That'll depend on traffic, of course.
We looked all over-Longmont, Boulder, Gunbarrel area, etc., and just fell in love with the place. It was the only one we looked at in Erie, and probably wouldn't have checked it out (just because it's in Erie), but as it turned out, the location was actually great.
But the area does freak me out. It's a condo community. Lots of golf courses, and the places are all the same.

Any updates on the issue of viewing financial aid? I'm getting bounced around between a few departments. They don't seem to have a clue what's going on.
Can anyone view/accept/decline stuff?

I'm in the same boat as you, adora. I emailed the IT dept and they told me to contact admissions. I'm going to give it a couple more weeks then I'm going to actually start caring about it. Hopefully now that school is done they will fix all these administrative problems.

Same same. I gave up trying to get an answer from the school and figured I'd just check every few days to see if it changed.

Yeah, I s'pose it's still pretty early. I won't worry about it just yet.

Re: Colorado Class of 2013
Yikes, I know nothing about applying for GradPLUS loans.. I thought that was all part of the FAFSA. Guess I better start looking around for some info.
edit: There is a link on the CU law financial aid page with a link: http://www.colorado.edu/finaid/loansforms.html has a link for the application.
Question: It recommends you check your credit report to make sure there aren't any errors since the loans are dependent on a credit check. I checked mine with Equifax. It looked fine (credit score: 732, no delinquincies in the past two years... this is pretty good right?). Do I also need to check it with Transunion and whatever the other one is, or is one of them enough?
another question: It asks for a specific amount you want to borrow on the GradPLUS loan form. Do I need to actually figure out a budget and put down an actual dollar amount that I'm sure of, or will you be given the option to accept only part of the loan (if for example I apply for 10,000 but only end up needing 9,000, or something like that)? I'll probably email the financial aid office if none of you all know for sure.

They will tell you the maximum we're eligible to borrow and you can take out as much or as little as you want up to that point. I believe the loans are dispersed early on in the academic year, but if you end up needing less than what you borrow you could just dump the remainder back into the loan payoff system before any substantial interest accrues.

Is anyone still having problems with CU Connect? It allows me to log into my page but when I click the financial aid tab and try to log into my cu info it says account not provisioned. I tried emailing IT about a week ago, but still no response.

We won't start in the Pac-? until 2012. But it is easy to get season football tickets. They are about $125ish and include the mile-high showdown game against CSU in Denver.the lantern wrote:So how do we go about getting football tickets now that we are in the PAC 10

Not a huge football fan, but with the Pac-10 thing it'll be great to see some real basketball talent roll through Boulder. I imagine those tickets aren't in too high demand.

Related question: I finally got my financial aid info to show up online, but it's only showing available loans, not scholarships. Is that how it's supposed to be or is something I should follow up with?

Re: Colorado Class of 2013
I emailed the office about this, and was told that it'll show up whenever the Office of Financial Aid receives all necessary documents. I'm not sure what, exactly, that means...and I'm wondering about how to go about the grad plus stuff - I'm hoping that my scholarship info will show up before I deal with this, but if not, I assume I'll just subtract the amount of my scholarship?j.wellington wrote:Related question: I finally got my financial aid info to show up online, but it's only showing available loans, not scholarships.
