Not sure. I kind of hope not, because its a Friday night (at 5pm) and that's a bit late to start what was, for us, a 5 hour day. I'm hoping its just a chance for us to all get together for wine (and champagne!)!!

OK I need them to do something after 3/15. Please, do an admitted students thing in late march. please. Charge for admission. I will pay.

thank you.

I think they try to do them early, as a lot of schools require deposits in April. If you can't make it, call the office. I've dropped by and talked with admissions and asked to sit in on a class. They are really awesome, I'm sure they'll make arrangements for you. It's just too bad you won't be there with everyone else. Hope it works out!

I am glad they finally released the admitted students page, but almost all of the info links seem to be broken. I guess it wasn't ready yet.

Hey guys!

A little shameful promotion, hopefully you all don't mind :-) I know this isn't technically the place for stuff like this, but since many of you seem to be in NYC already and it would be awesome if more of us met before the school year starts, I have a suggestion...

One of my best friends is releasing her first CD, and the release party is March 4th. It's going to be a great time with some great music, so if anyone is interested, the info is below. Bring anyone you want -- we're definitely aiming to pack the venue!

Thursday, March 4th
Arlene's Grocery
95 Stanton St (between Orchard and Ludlow)
Doors at 7:00
First band at 8:00
Peculiar Gentlemen at 9:00
Leslie DiNicola Album Release at 10:00
13th Floor at 11:00
$10

That sounds really cool, I wish I could go but I'm in DC :-( What kind of music does she do?

It's a great mix of rock, folk and blues -- she has a Joplin-esque feel. She's very good, so definitely check out her website!

I was just wondering if anyone who went to the past admitted student day is going to the next ones, or are they going to be the same thing?

The more that I look at it, the more I think they will all be pretty similar. The dean said at the last ASD that we are welcome to come back, but I really think that the only thing that will be any different is the mock class.

Last year the first day was Aug. 24, so I'd imagine it'd probably be at some point during the last week of August this year too.

I found out by e-mailing admissions.

Orientation is scheduled for Aug. 16. Classes are scheduled to begin Aug. 30.

The two-week gap seems strange to me.

Week-long orientation? I like the idea of being forced to move to NY a few weeks early.

Seems like a great excuse to party, if I do say so myself.

I concur with the aforementioned partying. I'm finishing my job at the end of July so it'll be good to have a solid month off before classes. nygiants, I might be looking into Astoria as a possible spot, I heard its a great and relatively affordable area. When are other people from out of town starting to look for places?

I don't mean to start a borough-fight, but I have to say, Brooklyn > Queens. BUT, I'm sure we can agree that both are indeed better than The Bronx, and we don't even need to bring up Staten Island. Everyone knows it's not really part of New York.

LOL I respectfully disagree with you beebs. Queens is my favorite. But you are absolutely right that SI doesn't really count (and would be an awful location if going to Fordham haha). It's all up to your tastes, but I invite you to Astoria at any time to experience its wonder (especially the Bohemian beer garden when its a little warmer!)

During orientation, I think we should have "Borough Day" when we explore, well, boroughs. Also tossing around this idea -- I'm calling it "The 5 Borough Bar Crawl". Might be another great orientation week activity.
