I thought they automatically set you up the personal email firstname.lastname@law.nyu.edu

I have to say I was a little disappointed to be assigned a random-looking email address along the lines of ab8392@nyu.edu, but apparently you can set up another, easy to remember account, and then they'll merge together.
I tried this, but it didn't work. I suppose I will email admissions on Monday if I haven't gotten my ID # yet, which is 13 days after the deposit.

Just submitted my deposit! I did it on-line. Does anyone know if you get any sort of confirmation other than the immediate e-mail from billmatrix?

None that I've gotten so far (submitted a week and a half ago).

I think the deposit confirmation is the same e-mail where they give you the ID.

Did you get your ID# yet, Bai? I assume you submitted a couple of weeks ago to make the scholarship deadline.

Just paid the depo$it.

8)

So, they say roughly 2/3rds of 1Ls live in the housing - what are you all doing? Any others, perhaps with significant others (or pets) planning on Brooklyn or elsewhere?

I know there was some discussion in another NYU thread, but figure the actual factual c/o 2013 thread needs some life.

Just got my university ID today, changed my email address to something more reasonable, set up forwarding, everything.

As for yeff's question, I'll be in university housing, actually rooming with someone here on TLS (mockstar), although we met at the second March ASD, not here. Will submit the housing application as soon as university IDs are sorted.

Just submitted my form to accept the scholarship. NYU, here I come (unless by some miracle I get off the Harvard waitlist, but then it will be a tough decision).

Any other future NYU students in the DC area want to meet up?

Did you pay the deposit also? My understanding is they want you to accept the scholly and pay the deposit now rather than by the regular deadline.

Oh, and I'm up for a NYU-in-DC meet.

I was going to pay the deposit by mail to avoid the fee. Do you think that's not okay, since today was the deadline?

I just talked to the financial aid office. What I understand from what they told me is that that regardless of whether you get your appeal or not, you must submit your intent to enroll and deposit before the end of the business day. They are trying to get the re-negotiated offers out as fast as they can. So if you thought you had until 9 p.m. or something, you don't .

Based on this...you have only a couple of hours max. I'd call them right now to ask.

I'm trying to submit my deposit online, but it is asking for a student ID #. I thought we don't get those until after we enroll. Are we supposed to just use our social security # or our LSAC #?

Thanks for the advice. I decided to just do it online. I think I was hesitating because I was still agonizing about the choice. Until last night I was 90% sure I was going to UVA.

Long story...I'll tell you about it when we meet in person. Speaking of which, when do you want to meet? Any other DC-area people want to join?

Now that the scholarship deadlines have passed and a lot of people have enrolled, let's do a quick check-in. How about we all post our first names, gender, age (optional), whether we are a student or working, years out of undergrad, where we currently live, and where we plan to live next year. I'll start:

Name: Laura
Gender: Female
Age Range: 25-28
Years out of undergrad: 3
Current location: DC area
Next Year: Planning to request room in 2 br or 3 br in D'Agostino
