So I visited the Law Center for the first time today to pick up my GOCard. Is it just me or are there way too many people walking around the campus that act like they are more important than they really are? Tonight I will pray that there be at least a few normal people in Section 4.

Oh and somewhat more on topic:

What are people wearing to the "Welcoming"/Dean's Reception tomorrow? And does anyone know anything about the Spouse and Family Welcome meeting? Such as does my wife just go to that by herself? After that. can she come with me to the Dean's reception?

I'm in section 4, but I don't know that i'm "normal."

Also, my contacts assignment is 50 pages.

How did you figure out what small section you're in?

Hi TLS, doing some online shopping with the last couple of days free time we have: http://www.cooley.edu/bookstore/catalog ... ter_5.html

Also, I found a small sports coat on the floor at Rocket Bar last night and couldn't find the owner - if you're missing one, PM me the details to recover it :)

Reading's piling up already with this moot court thing to review before Thurs...

You get your small section at your registration session for your section.

You get your small section at your registration session for your section.
Also, Contracts is section-wide, so that was a class you know before the registration session.

Do different sections have different classes for the fall? That's what I am getting out of it.

I have:
Civil procedure
Con Law I
Legal Research and writing (year long)
Torts

Section 1 has contracts in the spring.

My books are on the way and all assignments printed out.

I talked to the people today and they said business casual for the Dean's events tonight. So, nice shoes, dress slacks, and a button up for guys I suppose. (They said their is no official dress code, but you may want to make a good impression.)

Do the laundry rooms have irons?

Different sections have different classes. I'm in Section 2 and have

Torts
Civil Pro
Contracts
Legal Research and Writing

Con Law for us is not until the spring.

I agree on fancifying the dress code a bit for the Dean's reception, but feel free to dress casually for the registration session.

The laundry rooms do not have irons (at least mine doesn't), but I do have an iron and I'm right across from the laundry room if you need to borrow it. haha.

Finally got my printer set up. Thank God this ethics reading is just one page.

Summary version: You are a lawyer working for a bad company that wants to do bad stuff. What do you do? Um...

Section 1: No computers or phones in Civil Procedure. (Except for two exceptions each class) :( I do like the professor so far based on what I have read in the supplemental readings and problems.

CVS doesn't have much. How does a drug store not sell an iron and ironing board?

I have the 18th edition of the Bluebook from my undergraduate coursework. Does anyone have an idea of whether this will make a difference? I was thinking of holding off on purchasing a new one until I see the syllabus, etc.

My advisor told us it was sometimes ok and the professor doesn't mention only 19th edition (some professors said don't get an eariler one), but I can't get to the syllabus yet for that class. Not a lot of help I know...
My advisor wrote:The bookstore usually has a pretty good stock of used textbooks, which are comparable or even cheaper than the versions available online. Sometimes if the assigned textbook is a slightly older version there will be really cheap versions on half.com or amazon.com. It can be risky, but not horrible, to buy an older edition than the one assigned (though much cheaper). The readings won't match up with the syllabus pages, and sometimes cases won't even be in the book
Does anyone know how to log into Westlaw? and Lexisnexis?

When/Where? Do you have it? Some of the classes need it for the assignments.

On your orientation schedule it should list "orientation to the library" which is where I got mine.

Ok, glad I asked. I didn't plan on going to that. I have one available Thursday from 5-5:30. We had one on Tuesday that I didn't go to.

I don't think that's what he's talking about. The orientation to the library is part of the intro to law school thing on friday from 10-12

LOL. Based on our Ethics class/thing earlier, SD is the likable gunner. Some other guy is headed right for "mocked gunner" status.
