Exactly. This guy keeps repeating this anecdote as if it is solid proof of anything. And please TTTgrad, we know the market is bad, but going around saying that being top 10% +LR is a necessary condition to avoid poverty just makes you look stupid.

Ohhhhhhh Shit! He just went there!

That was absolutely hilarious. The "Oh Shit!" moment was so enthralling that I actually said it out loud.

Also, I am absolutely in love with Taylor Swift; she's gorgeous, somewhat intelligent, nice...her music is actually pretty good too.

Anyone else among you future classmates planning to bring a car? If so, what's the reasoning?

Just watched Lost. I am speechless. I am not sure I get it. But the finale was AMAZING.

Haha. So right. These people were selected for this interview BECAUSE they were Georgetown grads who were hard up for jobs. Firstly, this implies that there is some irony in that fact, and secondly makes it impossible for someone to draw a statistical sampling from the five interviewees.

1) I'm happy everyone likes Taylor Swift (and Jay-Z?).

2) If I ever have a few months with lots of free time, is LOST worth it? This is for people who went through the whole series.

3) Go Celtics!

I haven't watched any LOST either, everyone tells me that it's great, so it's my official summer project to watch the entire series.

I was thinking about it, but I decided that insurance and all that was too much of a pain for me. So instead I am investing that money into living closer to school. An alum friend said it made her life easier but that it wasn't required.

I haven't seen it. I've heard mixed things. There are people who love it and people who hate it. I haven't seen it because it didn't seem like my type of series as I don't like unresolved mysteries/ being emotionally manipulated by tv. However, it may be very enjoyable for you.

I do plan on watching some series this summer. I just got the complete Daria on DVD and I plan to watch Mad Men and the Wire. Two of my favorite series, Burn Notice and True Blood, also come back this summer.

Got the room I wanted. Yay!!! So happy. Also my credit check passed..

Does the first number indicate the floor the room is on??

It is an even number so I am on the east side right? Is that a good side to be on?? I am not very familiar with DC.
This makes it all very real.

I'll list my favorite TV shows in a little bit; I need to get back to work now. I never got into Lost mainly due to the reasons volsi stated.

So worth it. Honestly, now that it's over, I am SO satisfied with the entire series. The finale was THAT amazing. Not all of our questions were answered, but I feel like the important ones were. Plus, I bet once you start watching it, you won't stop. I didn't watch season one when it aired, and my friend gave me the DVDs, and I literally watched the whole season in like 3 days. Season 2 is one of my favorites, but they're all good. Highly recommend it if you have the time, especially now that you can watch them in your own time and don't have to wait to see what happens.

MSPeast wrote:East side apartments might face the courtyard, but most face the rec center, especially the first six floors. I think the view is better on the west side. I-395 is there down below, but I think you can see monuments. And yes, the first two digits are the floor.

My favorite shows these days are Mad Men, Modern Family, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Love Mad Men and Modern Family.

My apartment is an odd number, so I guess the west side, and I'm on the third floor. Anyone else on floor #3?

Re: Taylor

I'm so happy there's a lot of T. Swift love on here! I go to a lot of her concerts (next stop: Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas!!! She's part of the concert series. My graduation present and break before law school). She's a great artist and an even nicer person (definitely as nice as she seems--I met her after one of her concerts!)

Re: LOST

I highly recommend it!! I watched it all the way through and loved it. It was addicting! I always felt you could put as much into it as you wanted. If you wanted to just enjoy the story, you could do that. But you could also go deeper into the analysis, which is great for the lawyer mind. Faith vs. Science is a big theme throughout the entire series. The acting/cast is very talented and make the show that much better. My advice is to be patient and give it a shot. And don't turn it off just because of polar bears :)

Re: The Good Wife

For those of you who are current with it, finale tomorrow! For those who aren't, I highly recommend catching up this summer. It's fun to see some G-town love on the show and hear things like Hart Auditorium, etc. :) Plus, nice meshing of personal life without being too soap-y and interesting legal issues. Great acting, too.

I hope I get my letter in the mail todayyyy!!!!

So I didn't receive a letter in the mail today, even though I was sure I would. For a fleeting moment I was sure that I must have screwed up the housing app or forgot to pay. I decided to bite the bullet and give them a call; I received a 2 bedroom apartment on the 9th floor. I'm pretty pumped.

Also, she told me letters went out Friday.

Got mine on Saturday in NY as well. Ah, I can't wait to move in! Though I don't want to rush this summer, I have 6 weeks in Europe and then 6 weeks of relaxation and beach. I don't exactly want to start school yet. Plus, graduation tomorrow! Can't wait to be done w/ my school.

Congrats. I am on the 8th floor. :)

Seems we are all on different floors. It would be funny if the nine or so regular posters on here are all on a different floor.

Happy for everyone and hope we get to meet up once we are there.

I am on the 4th floor. Probably not the best view from there but I am sure it will be fine. I will be better off if the elevators go out, right? Happy with my placement...oh, and I have an odd number, so west side I guess.
