I'll be there.
Also, I have a recommendation for cheap furniture

When U of Maryland gets rid of stuff from classrooms and offices they sell it here for prices that range from decent to amazing. I got a bomb office chair for less than $4!

Thanks . I'm from China. Rumor says they've previously rejected a CLS JD. So good luck to myself...Unitas wrote:Good luck. I don't have any experience with them to offer you advice. I'll be teaching an LSAT class online from 7-9:30-ish, but I can meet up with you all when I'm done... and I'll do my best to bring some of last year's TLS crew to introduce you to some 2Ls, apper.apper123 wrote:can i, the awkward 2L transfer-in, come too?

I'm in Gewirz and I'm great with directions, so I think the lobby idea is a good one.softrevolution wrote:I'm in Gewirz too and terrible with directions, so a powwow in the lobby definitely sounds good!starrydecisus wrote: Kim, you're a Gewirzian right We can meet in the lobby or something and go over together!

Question about Gewirz-- is there cable connection in the bedrooms and the common room? Like, a total of 3 tvs can have cable? Or is it just in each bedroom?

Hmm. I would at least presume that the common area would have a cable connection. I guess I'm wondering whether the bedrooms have cable connections if there is a common room.Kim617 wrote:Question about Gewirz-- is there cable connection in the bedrooms and the common room? I'm living down in Capitol Hill area, just north of Lincoln Park. I'm not really sure what the proper neighbohood term is. It is a nice area though, so I'm excited.
Not as excited to be sitting in Dulles right now.

So anyone have any idea when they will make the budget increase request form available? I want to choose the +spouse option for insurance so I'm wondering when I could expect the increase in loan money. Will it be before it disburses?

When I asked about the budget increase for laptops, I was told that they (financial aid) would probably be busy the first few weeks of classes and would process my request after everything settled down.Torvon wrote:So anyone have any idea when they will make the budget increase request form available? So wait, have you already submitted your request?Burberry by Burberry wrote:When I asked about the budget increase for laptops, I was told that they (financial aid) would probably be busy the first few weeks of classes and would process my request after everything settled down.Torvon wrote:So anyone have any idea when they will make the budget increase request form available? edit: Also, anyone know how liberal they are with their increasing of budgets? I'm going to be asking for an increase in loans for rent, spouse health insurance and a laptop. Any chance they turn any of that down?

No, I haven't. I had called to ask about how soon I could purchase the laptop and still qualify for the budget (loan) increase this fall.Torvon wrote:So wait, have you already submitted your request?Burberry by Burberry wrote:When I asked about the budget increase for laptops, I was told that they (financial aid) would probably be busy the first few weeks of classes and would process my request after everything settled down.Torvon wrote:So anyone have any idea when they will make the budget increase request form available? FYI, different financial aid people told me different dates for the laptop purchase: the first said I was fine as long as I waited until August, but the other said I should wait until the week of orientation. As long as you do not purchase a computer too soon (for whatever date matters), I don't think your budget increase request for a laptop would be denied.
Also, a GULC financial aid counselor told me at ASW that the housing budget can be increased by as much as 50% to $1,725/month.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
