I know we are all a bunch of section whores now and we don't talk to anyone from other sections, so I thought it would be good to do another TLS Harvard meetup. Let me know if anyone is interested.

as of now...i believe:nixxers wrote:Guys, what's the story on the new GPA system?DoubleChecks wrote:curious as well, im assuming like 1/24 - 1/26 ish, sorta like in the prior yrsPoorOrpheus wrote:Has anyone heard anything about when grades are being released this year?
discretionary dean scholars given to the top of each subject class (so i imagine 0-2 ppl per 80 per subject per section)
high pass (i forget but its around 35%)
pass (everyone else, excluding discretionary low passes)
low pass (discretionary, up to 8% i think)
DS = 5.0 GPA
HP = 4.0 GPA
P = 3.0 GPA
LP = 2.0 GPA
so lulwut it actually comes with a GPA scale apparently...that we as students do not get to see (but it is supposedly provided to employers)

Re: Harvard Class of 2013
Actually the GPA scale isn't provided to employers and doesn't appear on our transcripts, it's used solely by the school to calculate Latin honors for graduation. Of course since the scale has been discussed online, employers willing to whip out a calculator will be able to ascertain some approximation of a GPA.DoubleChecks wrote:as of now...i believe:nixxers wrote:Guys, what's the story on the new GPA system?DoubleChecks wrote:curious as well, im assuming like 1/24 - 1/26 ish, sorta like in the prior yrsPoorOrpheus wrote:Has anyone heard anything about when grades are being released this year?

oh i had heard another student mention it being available to employers, but since i cant cite anything in the academic handbook in support of her comment, ill defer to your knowledge (so its very possible)citydweller09 wrote: Actually the GPA scale isn't provided to employers and doesn't appear on our transcripts, it's used solely by the school to calculate Latin honors for graduation. Re: Harvard Class of 2013
hi everyone, i have been admitted to harvard for the class of 2014. i unfortunately have conflicts on both of the scheduled ASW, and so i plan on visiting at another point. i wanted to ask how you all would say the ASW actually are? will i be at a huge disadvantage, in terms of getting a feel for the school and all that it has to offer, by not going?
thanks!
thanks!
