Yea they are like an extra 1500, but they are still cheaper than most apartments. I wanted a regular room but the larger one may have its benefits. I'm a little messy and my girlfriend is incredibly neat and she will be visiting so I hope less clutter=more happy gf. I also like to work out in my room while I take breaks from homework so the larger room may be useful in that respect.

In a way that kind of sounds like jail. Work out, read, work out, read, eat, work out, read, work out, read all in the same room.

That would be a good slogan for the school

Cornell Law: It's a lot like jail.

Maybe I'll pull a Michael Scofield and make a daring break for the library every now and then.

New thread title, Sarah?

At least the library is in the same building. That's the thing that really scared me about Hughes, the idea of being able to go a few days without even leaving the building,

The thought of not having to leave the building during the winter was the only reason I *wanted* to stay in Hughes... gave up on that dream.

I just noticed there is a link on the Admitted Students website for a Dean's Certification. Is this form required and if so by when?

If you were admitted, I don't think they required it. :P

From the instructions to the online application (http://www.lawschool.cornell.edu/admiss ... inal-2.pdf):

A Dean’s Certification Form is not required as part of your application for admission unless you answered “yes” to Question 22 on your application. If you answered “yes” to this question, please give this form to the dean of students (or a comparable official with access to the school’s official records) at the institution from which you received your baccalaureate degree. Prior to matriculation at the Cornell Law School, all admitted students must submit a completed Dean’s Certification Form. More Information about this form will be provided upon admission.

So the flowchart is:

Did you answer "Yes" to Question 22 on your application?

Y - Include a Dean's Certification in your application packet
N - You are not required to include a Dean's Certification in your application packet

Were you admitted to Cornell Law School?

Y - See next question
N - STOP. Put your pencils down and do not go on to the next section.

Did you include a Dean's Certification in your application packet?

Y - Congratulations! You are done.
N - You're gonna need one before you matriculate.

What does "matriculate" mean?

ma·tric·u·late (v. muh-trik-yuh-leyt; n. muh-trik-yuh-lit)

- verb

1. to enroll in a college or university as a candidate for degree.
2. to register (a coat of arms), used esp. in Scottish heraldry.

The instructions specifically state, "Prior to matriculating at Cornell Law School." Thus, they're probably referring to needing a Dean's Certification before you enroll in classes. But just to be sure, you might want to check your genealogy. If you are Scottish, and your coat of arms has not yet been registered, you may wish to do this during your time at Cornell Law School (extra credit in Trusts & Estates.) This matter warrants further investigation.

If you need it, the Dean's Certification is available online at --LinkRemoved--.

Cheers!

Indeed you didn't. I don't know why TLS thinks you did. I just highlighted the text and hit quote.

Hahaha. HB, you're my doppelgänger. I'm stuck offshore waiting on the boat to come take me home. But it's running a little behind.

Is there anyway to get out early for good behavior, or do we have to serve the full 3 year stint?

I out of the blue went to the Cornell online store and saw that they're having a pretty big sale today only. Seems like almost everything (clothes wise) is 20% off.

Just saying.

Bee tee dub, for those of you who haven't waded through all 27 pages of this thread, CyLaw made a private "TLS Cornell Class of 2013 Facebook" group. It's where all the cool kids are.

Is there a public c/o 2013 facebook group or is this private one the only one?

Yeah. The public one is ran by the school.

The private one is for TLS. To get invited, just PM holybartender, sjsteece, or myself with your email address that is used for Facebook.
