I just e-mailed them again and received a personalized message back (at 11:30 p.m. EST!) saying it was in the mail but that I am welcome to call them and they'd be happy to scan it and e-mail it to me. Wow. Very impressive.

Yes, except that they say they will email it but never do. I'm still waiting for my email after calling them at 4:15estCore wrote:I just e-mailed them again and received a personalized message back (at 11:30 p.m. EST!) saying it was in the mail but that I am welcome to call them and they'd be happy to scan it and e-mail it to me. Came home to a $90,000 scholly letter today. 30k guaranteed for three years. Holy. Crap. I didn't expect that. I think I'm still leaning toward Michigan but this makes is hard.

When I withdraw I'll politely ask them to send some your way Mich offered 75k and I think that the lower COA coupled with better job prospects are going to make Michigan the right choice.vexion wrote:Letter just came, $0.00. Jealous of you people.

Re: Cornell 2013
I agree that Mich is the better choice in that situation. The fact that they can charge $18,000 more for tuition yet not be OVERLY generous with aid is kind of shocking. At this point I am too lazy too indifferent them about asking for more, though, but thanks for offering . I think I also burnt a bridge with all my calls and a grumpy early morning email, so they would lower my offer if anything lol.def2104 wrote:When I withdraw I'll politely ask them to send some your way Mich offered 75k and I think that the lower COA coupled with better job prospects are going to make Michigan the right choice.vexion wrote:Letter just came, $0.00. Posting because I'm annoyed at the complainers/people who aren't going anyway being the last ones to have said something.
Who else has already planned their wine tour of Cayuga lake, because I definitely have. Also, I have decided to learn how to kayak.

Coming from Los Angeles, I kind of have this vision of Cornell being frozen over all the time. How warm does it get in the late spring and summer?sjsteece wrote:Posting because I'm annoyed at the complainers/people who aren't going anyway being the last ones to have said something.

I don't think it will be all that bad. Coming from the arid heat of Oklahoma and then the frozen mountain tops of Austria I am looking forward to a happy medium. If you live there over the summer it should be pretty awesome.

Lakes are fun, though. All of ours tend to be man-made and filled with chemicals.

Application complete 3/9/2010 (despite the fact that LSAC sent them my application on 12/31/2010... wtf!!!!) with no application status updates since then. Is it fathomable that they just haven't reviewed my application fully at this time? Am I perhaps de facto waitlisted until they have a better idea of who is going to commit? Is it even possible, nevermind likely, that somebody would be accepted this late.
My numbers: 3.65 gpa at weak undergrad, 174 lsat on a retake, 23 years old, over 5 years of work experience (often worked two jobs while in school), heavy volunteer, heavy campus leadership, speak Arabic, collegiate athlete... basically good numbers, weak undergrad, nice softs. What do you all think? Thanks a bunch! (please note, I am going to post this same message for a couple other schools I haven't heard from yet, same situation... haha)

I called too and while I was on the phone, the girl asked me to hold on for a second. When she came back on the phone a minute later she'd already scanned and emailed it to me.legallybrunette16 wrote:dudester wrote:The e-mailed me my offer on the same day I called them.Jericwithers wrote:Yes, except that they say they will email it but never do. About 19 hours. I called 4:15est Monday and they got it to me around 10:30am est Tuesday. I wouldn't have been so grumpy about it if they hadn't told me on Thursday it would be ready on Friday, then Friday it would be ready end of the day, etc.legallybrunette16 wrote:dudester wrote:The e-mailed me my offer on the same day I called them.Jericwithers wrote:Yes, except that they say they will email it but never do.
