When you go to accept the fields with the $$ amount allow you type exactly what you would like. That's how it worked for me a few days ago.

Have they posted the new tuition costs for next year yet? I want to wait on that before I decide how much of the GradPlus loans I will need to take. I have a little money saved up, so I don't want to take out all the loans unless necessary

They are meeting this week to decide. The undergrad is expecting a 10% increase for in-state and 6% for OOS. That would be our best guess for the Law School, but really, nothing is sure until they decide.

BTW, my guess on this is going to be 46,428 for OOS and $41,428 for in-state.

The Sunday stuff is optional. And by optional it means not worth going to unless you're legitimately interested; we played softball during it last year.

And getting in-state residency is nigh impossible for 2L and 3L correct?

oh i don't actually have it in front of me. i just know this based on what kathy at the jeffersonian told me. don't know how she knows lol. i would like to see a schedule too i don't know where to find one.

All I've seen is the academic calendar, which shows orientation as beginning on Monday the 16th. So I was wondering if I was missing something.

That's the word. I'm sure there are some here getting in-state though.

Yeah, but the difference between UG OOS and IS tuition is gigantic; OOS is like 3 times as much as IS. The in-state advantage for the LS is like 10%. I'm thinking the increase in tuition should be a pretty similar % for both OOS and IS, but I'm definitely talking out my ass.

I think they should drop IS tuition for the LS.

 if they relaxed the requirements for gaining state residency, I'd support that 100%.

+1. Except when you look at it logically, none of the money for the school comes from the state so us IS people are getting a break already.

I still bet my estimates end up close. In fact, I bet I'm within $1000 on both guesses.

I read one comment that grads targeting California have been doing very well lately. Does anybody know a way to judge whether this is accurate? I really like UVA but don't want to be stuck on the East Coast.

UVA's placement has lagged in CA lately because of the economy. That's more a result of hiring just being down everywhere and not about CA in particular. They still do relatively well in CA and as the economy picks back up they'll surely get back to their old placement numbers again, slowly.

how many all nighters do you 1L's pull?

I hated pulling all nighters and I never did it in college (maybe once in four years). Can the same be said for law school?

Didn't pull a single one in the fall, and still did well enough. However, this spring I didn't get enough done early in the semester, so I may have to start now in order to catch up. That's my own time mismanagement though, if it comes to that.

New admissions numbers out. 9% increase in applications from last year. Brings the total pool of applicants to 8,562.

This year, they only accepted 890 applicants, or 10.4% of the total pool. This is compared to accepting 1158 applicants, or 14.7% of the total pool, last year.
