I know class of 2012 isn't about to graduate and enroll in the current LRAP, but I'm guessing the door would still be open for them to get on board.
I'm going to try to get more information on this. It sounds like there will be a method for current students to request a change to the new program, but the option is ultimately up to the school whether to approve that or not.

At least the Class of 2013 is in the clear and gets it automatically. Good for you guys at least.

I think that probably half of the folks ITT are paying sticker.
As URM that pads their 75% LSAT I was hoping for half-tuition. Ah well...

Hopefully they will allow you to participate. I have to think that if they left the door open there is a decent shot it will happen.

So, how does one usually go about furnishing an apartment at the Jeffersonian? Grab the essentials and then slowly add to things over the year via craigslist? Speaking of which, if I move in August 1st will there be tons of furniture I can find on craigslist?

There are a few mattress places that deliver, Wal-Mart is great for cheap furniture, and last August Staples had amazing sales on deks (I got a $129 desk for $30).

If you have a car, there's an Ikea in NoVA, you can make a day trip up there and load up. Much of their furniture is made for easy transportation and will fit in a car (at least in its original packing, it's much harder to ship once you assemble it). About a two-hour drive each way.

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll definitely get the mattress delivered. I think it's the one item I'm gonna splurge on and get something decent. I might be at Wal-Mart for the rest.

I'm kinda meh on IKEA. Their stuff is not terribly expensive and it looks real nice, but for the most part their furniture is made out of really flimsy material. Usually too flimsy for the price, IMO, but I will keep them in mind.

Sweet. I might not be able to find a truck, but I figure if I bring along some tools I should be able to disassemble and reassemble anything except a wardrobe. Thx.

My email says Bar Review is at South Street Brewery. Are they separating the admitted students?
I was told South Street is canceled and it's moved to Boylan Heights.
Yay!
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but now it's been switched back to South Street.

Bearer of bad news? I really liked South Street when I went during my last visit. The distance is a bit much though.

Well I like South Street but he said "Yay" when it changed to Boylan so I'm assuming the change back is a "Nay". Personally I think Boylan is a better choice when talking about admitted students bar review given it's close and next to all the other bars and near Arch's so I think they dropped the ball on this one.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I think the Corner is the the best place to go for admitted students day.

I officially belong here now!! Although it was bittersweet to give up all that GULC $$ and resign myself to living in a college town as opposed to a city, I'm pumped to FINALLY know where I'll be headed this fall.

It is a good feeling isn't it...

Question for you though: What pushed you over the edge? UVA and GULC are close peer schools. If you had $$ and the city life that you wanted why did you pick UVA? I need to know because I have lots of friends looking to go to GULC or get their Econ PhD's at Georgetown and I need good reasons to convince them that UVA is right for them too. For some reason the general awesomeness of C-Ville and awesome UVA sports isn't getting through to them. :D

At the end of the day, the exit options from UVA are far more secure if you graduate in the middle of the class and far more prestigious if you graduate in the top (10%ish) of the class. I've talked to countless T14 law students, a number of hiring partners at elite biglaw firms and lit boutiques, and read through many NLJ reports and legal blogs. Although when talking to people I got mixed advice, the majority of them said I should go to UVA.

In addition, I really liked Charlottesville/UVA when I visited. Every student I spoke with there had nothing but great things to say about the school, their professors, and their peers. I even remember discussing with the other admitted student who was staying with the same host as I that UVA is a school that you wouldn't regret attending which I think is something that can be said about only a handful of law schools. Also, I'm still on Chicago's waitlist and the terms of the GULC scholarship would have required me to immediately withdraw from all other schools.

It's obviously tough turning down money from a national school but in the end I think UVA will be the best place for me.

couple quick things about Jeffersonian Apts which have probably been addressed but I don't want to sift through this thread...

1) How shitty is the wireless internet? Do most people end up buying their own?
2) Power is through DOM, what about cable/internet - Embarq or Comcast? Kathy lists both on the rental agreement notes as possible

A 0L basing his life decisions on the results of a softball tournament... oh yes, you will fit in here.
