Does anyone know if Jeffersonian allows more than one pet (cat) in each apartment?

Edit: never mind. They accept two pets per apartment. yay!

I love that show. I think season 4 is probably one of my favourite tv seasons of all time.

I watched all 5 seasons during my free time last summer. It really is the perfect show, but I think it never really took off because you can't get in to it by just seeing one episode. Its entertaining, original, and has great character development. In addition, it provides social commentary and is really honest. Its probably the most realistic drama I've ever seen (but let's be honest, what do I really know about inner city baltimore?).

Watch season one and you'll be hooked.

Just received a response from Virginia with regard to my request to match Michigan's scholarship offer: denied. "We are unable to adjust your award until we have a better idea of how our deposits are coming in."

The reality of $203,100 sets in. Someone talk me out of turning down my dream school and following the money. I just don't think I can afford to take on such a heavy debt load.

Or actually more than that when tuition increases next year. I am thinking of becoming a Virginia resident and waiting a year... and increasing my chances for a scholarship... I mean, that is what one does for dreams, isn't it?

Haha, I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I could theoretically do that as well, but I don't think I can go through the agony of reapplying and delaying.

Tuition, debt, blah blah blah. Back to The Wire.

Joe, you should check it out.

Apple, Season 4 is probably my favorite so far.

I was hoping I could watch it instantly on Netflix or ondemand but I could only find Season 2. Where is the best place to watch it online?

Oh and as for the debt, I keep telling myself that it is going to pay off in the end. We've just got to make the most of the next 3 years and enjoy UVA for all its worth :)

I torrented it. However, if I become an IP lawyer, then I didn't torrent it. If you know what I mean

Order of wire seasons: Best-Worst
4 - 1 - 3 - 5 - 2

The Wire is definitely a show that gained momentum over time and is probably more popular now than when it was airing. I started hearing alot of good things about it as season 4 was airing so I went back and watched 1-3 to get caught up. I agree with the fact that having to watch a few episodes to start to "get it" is probably part of the reason it didn't have more traction from the beginning. My season rankings are probably 4,3,1,2,5; but they are all great.

For those contemplating jumping in, I unequivocally recomend it. Just be patient for the first couple episodes as things develop. It is well worth it.

Wish I could help. I just watched the series again with my girlfriend after getting her on it a couple of months back and we just loaded it up on the queue and waited for it through snail mail. I'm also a little bit older than you guys, so my skills at finding free stuff on the internet is somewhat primitive.

i don't know if this is the right place to post this or not but i figured there must be a lot of people who applied ED to UVA on this thread who may be able to answer my question.

UVA is really my top choice and I would do ED (for class of 2014) if it weren't for the financial questions. Is it true that if you apply ED, the admissions office considers you for scholarship money just the same way as if you were applying regular decision? For people who did ED what has been your experience with scholarship money from UVA? Do you think if someone with a 171, ~3.85, and VA residency would get scholarship money if they did ED? Thanks for any help in advance!

No, I don't think they do consider you for the same aid if you ED. Multiple sources for this, including my own experience with similar numbers. HOWEVER, if you are a VA resident, they are going to be very interested in you. RD with lower numbers and VA residents got money.

Generally speaking, it's much more difficult to get $$ if you apply ED. With your numbers and VA residency, it wouldn't be unfounded for you to expect to get in with relative ease. You can always change your app. status from RD to ED later in the cycle if shit starts looking bad. Hope this helps.

Happy to meet another Netflix-er... Getting mail is great enough, but dvds in the mail? Even better.

I feel like I can enjoy/get into movies & shows a lot better on my tv than on my computer. I figure I'll suck it up & watch Season 1 online and then thankfully Season 2 is ondemand. This show better live up to all the hype  (don't worry, I'll be patient!)

The admissions staff said they consider you the same (check out the TLS interview..) but I just don't buy it. Scholarships are there to draw prospectives in and if you ED you're already in. They may shoot the most impressive ED'ers some cash so word doesn't get out that EDing will bar you from aid but if you want those dolla bills you should do RD. Also, I think a lot of EDers do ED because they are borderline candidates. My guess is most ED'ers are people who have a good chance of getting WLed if RD so they do ED to avoid the inevitable death that is UVa's WL. So I think both of those factors (borderline stats + no need to lure you away from other schools with $$$) equal the majority of ED'ers gettin 0 scholarship money.

If you have Virginia residency, a 3.85 and a 171 just apply the day they start accepting applicants and marvel at the scholarship dollars they will be sending your way. Those are CCN numbers my friend so they will have to lure you.

Maybe. The extension of the ED deadline came out of nowhere. I don't know if they'll do it again next year.

Good point. The whole purpose behind the extension would be undermined if other schools (namely Penn, Michigan, Duke) adopt the same measure. You know what though? We will never have to worry about this again. Thank God.

1 at median 1 above as a Virginia in state? I'd be very curious to see the RD application that didn't get in with cash. If the same application went ED, I'm almost inclined to say they'd throw some cash in anyway, cuz not doing so would be such an egregious breach of the "we consider ED applicants same as RD for merit schollies" policy.
