Mine changed in about two days, but a couple of people here said it took five or six for them. I wouldn't worry about it too much. We're still at least five weeks from disbursement.dgouzoul wrote:GRRRR did my loan counseling last monday and it still says incomplete. WTF

Now that we have access to laweb do we get access to Chambers as well or is it just the Vault guides?
How exactly does the laptop loan money work? Once we've requested it what happens next?

Well, the thing is, "expect" is such a strong word for something so uncertain...heathbar88 wrote:So, I guess that's a no? Re: UVA Class of 2013
I'm assuming that since it took FinAid two months (Apr 30 deposit deadline -> June 30 email) to send us info about how to finalize our finaid, there will be some lag between the expected Aug 16 disbursement and the money actually hitting our accounts.vanwinkle wrote:Well, the thing is, "expect" is such a strong word for something so uncertain...heathbar88 wrote:So, I guess that's a no? That, and all the LOLing that the 2Ls have been doing when asked this question.

Does anyone who lives in Ivy or knows someone who does know if the only Cable/Internet option is NTC? Can you get Comcast/DISH?

NTC is the only option generally. A very small number of people whose apartment faces the right direction can get dish.TheSharklord wrote:Does anyone who lives in Ivy or knows someone who does know if the only Cable/Internet option is NTC? Can you get Comcast/DISH?

I've tried and tried, but it looks like I won't have a car for 1L (at least). I'll be in Ivy towards the middle of the complex. My roommate will have a car that I assume we can use for grocery shopping. Should I buy a bike? Stick to walking? Is it easy to get downtown via walking or public transportation?

I walk to downtown when I feel like it. It's nice and not particularly long. I'd say grab a bike so that you at least have the option of biking but ,with a car for grocery shopping, I can't envision too many bike necessary scenarios.heathbar88 wrote:I've tried and tried, but it looks like I won't have a car for 1L (at least). YCrevolution wrote:Route 7 of CTS will also get you to shopping centers on 29 (going north) and downtown (going east/south). It stops at Barracks Road Shopping Center. You can also take Northline on the UVa bus system from Ivy to get to BRSC or to main campus where you can take 7 or the trolley into downtown. CTS is free with UVa ID.Kohinoor wrote:I walk to downtown when I feel like it. It's nice and not particularly long. Thanks for the info Kohinoor & YC. Doesn't seem too bad; I'm just so use to having a car in the burbs/rural areas

*preemptively takes out a payday loan*Last Thursday, I attempted to send the e-mail below to rising 2Ls and 3Ls. Over the holiday weekend, I learned that the e-mail did not go out because the University’s e-mail system was experiencing problems, but was assured it would go out once repairs were made. It is now clear that the e-mail has not gone out.

Add me to the list of people waiting for SIS to say that my entrance loan counseling has been completed. Any folks have an idea of how long it might take?

It took two days for mine to show as complete, but I've heard others say it took as long as six days.billyez wrote:Add me to the list of people waiting for SIS to say that my entrance loan counseling has been completed. Any folks have an idea of how long it might take?

also - forgive me if this is a dumb question but is there any limit to how much or what sort of printing can be done in the law school's computer labs?

They credit you like $20 worth on your account to start, which got me through the school year.dgouzoul wrote:also - forgive me if this is a dumb question but is there any limit to how much or what sort of printing can be done in the law school's computer labs?
Also, if you need to print anything off Lexis or Westlaw (cases, or legal articles, for research) you'll eventually get access to print directly from any computer to the Lexis or Westlaw labs. That's free, it's paid for by Lexis and Westlaw (as part of their campaign to convince you to love them).

Do any current students have any good info about opportunities relating to healthcare law? I saw on the UVA website that their is collaboration with the Med school but wasn't really sure what that entails
