I have never once seen anyone play at that court. It is not a nice court at all. There are very nice courts at Emmett & McCormick that have lights and seem to be busy when the weather is nice.YCrevolution wrote:There's one right off of Copeley field.jnorsky wrote:Are there any outdoor bball courts on campus that people play at during the summer or the school year?

Re: UVA Class of 2013
There are twice-or-three times weekly pick-up games at The Park. Or at least there have been the past two years and I don't think there is any reason to think they won't continue this year. However, they are often at a time that conflicts with 1L classes in the fall so not too many 1Ls seem to come out first semester.badwithpseudonyms wrote:Ahh... I'm not representative of the average 1L. I've got to take out enough for two people to live off of until my gf find's a job. Then I'm riding the gravy train straight to Less Debt Station 2L and 3L.A Swift wrote:Sorry. What I mean is: of the amount offered in loans, how much are you guys accepting? This is important. We need to discuss it, people. I must apologize in advance to all those who will be my teammates, I'm only 5'11 and 3/4".jnorsky wrote:Are there any outdoor bball courts on campus that people play at during the summer or the school year?
And is anyone interested in playing some soccer? I've been playing with the 1st and 2nd graders are work and realized I miss it.

The thing about not being able to cook is that you can only make, usually, pasta, which is very cheap. That keep costs down. Conclusion: eat spaghetti and take a multi-vitamin.
Also, Kohinoor, your posts are consistently hilarious. Just wanted to give you some recognition.

i have a feeling my penchant for fine wines and dining is going to be my downfall. i don't really buy clothes or electronics or splurge on anything except gluttony. it's my main vice. hmm i wonder how i'll fare keeping that in check.

Re: UVA Class of 2013
I realized long ago I have no money for wine so I've developed a love for craft beer. It's rewarding and relatively cheap. I rarely buy clothes myself but do love some technology now and then. I am pretty set for now I think. I need to buy an external HD and I perhaps a laptop. I already have a cheapo HDTV which is fine and a solid stereo. JBL L36 decade series baby, twice as old as I am, they just don't make them like that anymore.plum wrote:lolz.joeshmo39 wrote: Conclusion: eat spaghetti and take a multi-vitamin.

You are a hero sir. My last 10 bids were definitely 'I just don't care anymore' bids.YCrevolution wrote:I think I should get an award for having over 100 bids.Kohinoor wrote:5 MINUTES UNTIL OGI BIDS FINALIZE. RIOT IN THE STREETS. AGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

In related news, Kevin Donovan should be nominated for sainthood. Talk about dedication...

You guys care to weigh in with a more detailed explanation of OGI bidding/lottery/pre-selection/whatever? I've heard bits and pieces, but not enough to get a decent idea of how things really work.

What's up with the love for Donovan? I respect the opinions of the 2L's, so this is an encouraging endorsement.YCrevolution wrote:Concur. I'm a sort of wiped out at the moment, but I promise to give you a run down of how the process works tomorrow.bgdddymtty wrote:You guys care to weigh in with a more detailed explanation of OGI bidding/lottery/pre-selection/whatever? Maybe I just had low expectations given the competency of my undergrad's career services people, but I admit I'm impressed with Donovan. (If only he could guarantee us jobs.)
He's pretty much done everything but this. He's totally devoted to helping students - and in crunch times like the period leading up to OGI bids, that extends to sacrificing sleep, personal time, lunch, etc. I'm baking him cookies (and maybe I'll get a dog biscuit for Gus).

Mardy Gilyard? Tony Pike? Any of those names ring a bell.
I'll be sporting my Cincinnati and Michigan jerseys every Saturday afternoon this fall.

3 Sports Bars or the like other than BWW: Boylan Heights, Mellow Mushroom, West Main. Unless I'm blanking, Boylan Heights wins out pretty easily (and has good burgers).
OGI: You get 50 bids, 40% are essentially lottery (more complicated than that but not really necessary to know the details at this point), 60% are pre-select. Details on firms are released around 3-4 weeks in advance and then you find out what interviews you got around the end of July. Interviews are 20 or 30 min each and run for 2 weeks in the middle of August and then you pray for callbacks. It's an unpleasant process.

They ring a bell for certain. They were two of the best offensive players in the Big East last year... before they GRADUATED.D Brooks wrote:LOLOLOLOLOLjoeshmo39 wrote:D Brooks wrote:2Ls: Please list the best three sports bars (other than BW3s) where I can spend all Saturday watchingcollege footballthe Pittsburgh Panthers crush up on kids.
