In submitting my rental application for the Jeffersonian apartments, is there anything specific I should be requesting? Are there newly renovated units, better locations to be in, etc.?

In submitting my rental application for the Jeffersonian apartments, is there anything specific I should be requesting? Are there newly renovated units, better locations to be in, etc.?

Over time, they've been renovating units as people move out, so there's no particular set of apartments that have been renovated. Personally, I'd choose to live on a higher floor (I currently do not), but your preferences may vary.

Any particular reason why? This might be a dumb question but I assume I'd be able to get a couch/bed/table up to the higher floors?

Quick, I need a restaurant that's unique (not a chain) and around 15-20 dollars per person to take people to that doesn't include the following:

Aryana's Cafe
Tara Thai

Another question about the Jeffersonian or I guess the Charlottesville area in general:

How is antenna TV reception? Will I be able to pick up network TV with just an antenna? That's what I do now (and Hulu) but I also live in a large city and the signal doesn't have to travel very far. Not sure what the TV situation is in Charlottesville.

You're not going to be able to pick up anything with an antenna almost anywhere in C'ville (including Arlington Blvd.). You'd have to get the ~$10 a month ultra-basic cable for local channels from Comcast. I just use Netflix and the Internet.

That's what I was afraid of. For the most part that's what we do now. I really wish the Roku would get a Hulu channel and then I'd be set!

FML I need to vent. I just found out that I am going to have to take 21 hours next semester. The course I was supposed to take in our January mini-semester just got cancelled.

How I am going to balance that with a 56 game baseball schedule is beyond me.

Is there any way you can delay a couple classes to summer and graduate at the end of the summer?

Turned in my app for Jeffersonian at 12:06 eastern time, currently #7. YC--do all the apts there have hideous carpet? Someone showed me some pictures of one of the units and the carpet was literally the ugliest I had ever seen.

You should be fine, I talked to the manager and she told me that in recent years they have gone all the way up to #45.

I just got into UVA...not sure yet if that's where I will be going, but I figured I'd say hi.

I read somewhere that the apartments near campus get taken in January the year before. Can you apply for one now and then release it later if you decide to go somewhere else, or is there a big financial penalty for doing that?
