Has anyone else seen their status checker pop up with a scholarship letter? My status checker has not changed one bit I suppose this means that I can give up on merit aid...

Dean Dugas said everyone should hear back by the end of March, don't give up hope yet!

Mine changed today - Scholarship Letter sent 3/18. AHHHH! I WOULD be in Charlottesville when they send it back home

Student or salesman?

Had a great first day in Charlottesville. Got the tour, got the t-shirt, got some bbq, even got to play in a sectional softball game (!) with my friend who is a 1L. Tons of fun.

Quick comment though: The Law School got shafted. I drove by Darden first and was blown away by the beauty and general swankiness of the business school! I had to drive in an admire it. Although the law school is also a very nice building, why wasn't it built/remodeled to the caliber of the business school? I think Jefferson would be sad.

Got an e-mail today saying that they had run out of two bed room furnished places. I was number 71 though and had settled on the Grad. Centre anyway. That's all the info I have on it.

Yep. No mercy rule was enforced. It did suck though to borrow a glove every inning and use the ghetto bats they had. Can't wait to use my own gear.

Finally got into CVille late tonight, poked around a bit. Bout time! Wine in the Kroger blew my GF's and my mind, until they told us they don't sell booze after midnight.

Anyone else get their financial aid e-mail this morning? Ugggh! So much money in loans! I feel like I'm looking a gift horse in the mouth, but a scholarship letter appeared in my status checker the other day, and if it's the same as the scholarship amount in the e-mail, I'm afraid UVA won't be an option for me.

Do they give you a free T-shirt at the ASW? Just visited this past monday, LOVED it, and I might go back for the April ASW to look for housing and settle in.

After seeing the very, very large amount of money I am going to owe in loans after just one year.. I'm going to need about half of the 15,000 drinks that you're owed

Uhh, I'm with you. I'm fine with loans, but I don't know about 45k + in the plus loans with a fixed interest rate at 8.5%. I'm trying to figure out some rates on private loans. I'm guessing that some could be cheaper because interest rates are very low right now (obviously this may not hold true in the future)...

Anyone else have any thoughts re this?

What kinds of loans are people getting in addition to the Stafford loans? I only received Stafford loans...which would make this choice even more expensive than I thought initially imagined...

Does recieving the Finacial Aid e-mail mean we did not recieve any scholarships?

Well, the UVA law webpage says that complete financial aid packages will be available in April, so that may not be your complete package. I'm just speculating though.
