Doesn't necessarily mean they're not cameras but I've been in Cville a long time and have never heard of there being red light cameras.
I think there are lights inside the red light to make them more noticeable; not sure if that's what you mean.
well, there are some strange structures on the traffic light pole on pretty much every single traffic pole i've seen on 29, and on a few there are these:
--ImageRemoved--
if you're on millmont and arlington, right behind barracks, there's one of them on the traffic light that goes
perpendicular parallel to arlington.
either way, i guess the point is moot if no one's been getting tickets. they're probably something else.
edit: i'm a sloppy idiot who meant to say parallel to arlington, not perpendicular.

Can 1Ls get in the gym yet? I'd definitely be interested, but didn't think we had access to the gym yet.

So, I'm drinking beer and building shit. If anyone wants to get together later, let me know. Or if you want to hang out on Arlington while I build, I've got plenty of beer.

Century link= free router+moden+14.95 installation fee+29.99 a month=not bad. But is it a good company?
Requestion: does anyone know how century link is?
I'm not sure since I've only heard about Century link when I got here, but I got the impression that they were DSL? I like cable better.
There is a self installation kit available at Best Buy, but Comcast should offer it directly too. I got set-up through a third party
Allconnect when I got my power and they waived all fees so it's just the 29.99. I think usually comcast charges around 9 bucks for the kit and service.
Anyway, I'm new to this site and to the area. Is there anything going on tonight? I am le bored.

I think he's talking about the long white things attached to the light structures at most intersections. They definitely look like cameras, but I've also never heard of someone getting a red-light ticket through a camera.
FYI those are 3M Opticon traffic preemption systems. Fire engines + ambulances are equipped with IR transmitters that signal the device and turn the light green for their direction of travel. The white light flashes when the system is engaged.

Most of the lights on 29 have the preemption systems. The lights at 29 and Rio Rd. and at Stony Point Rd. and 250 near Pantops DO have the red light sensors. They were approved and installed last year, and at the time, they were threatening to install more. You will note that a lot of the yellows are short, the actual cycles allow maybe three cars to make turns off of 29, and people run lights like nobody's business around here.

CenturyLink = formerly Embarq = formerly Sprint landline/DSL
I've known people who have Embarq and it's not bad.

Email the administrators from your real email and tell them, if you really want to join. Why don't you have a fb under your real name?
Long story, privacy issues, I just made one under my dog's name to stay in touch with close friends. How do I find the administrator's e-mail?

Cordel Faulk and Jason Dugas are two of the the three administrators. You should have their emails already.

does anyone know when we will find out our sections?
On a side note, is there anything going on tonight? Otherwise, I was gonna head to this bar called Trinity at the corner(?), I think.
Let me know if interested.
