Mystifying. Everyone I know is moving down, not up.

Perhaps there is less "give a fuck" this year due to the economy?

You know the wrong peeps then. LOL. Well, I am predicting that the cutoffs will be higher than the current 3Ls had their 2L year just because our cutoff's for 1L were higher then the previous ones listed. But, I hope this is not the case but seems likely. However, no one need worry if you are in the top 25% or top 10% because it seems they don't move as much. To the rest of us, well......

I hope they nosedive like a poorly-maintained Russian airplane.

If you do, any chance I could beg / borrow / harass someone for you to borrow for the semester? I don't mark up books.

Or rent it from you?
I just saw a Facebook post about someone offering to rent out their book (he's dropping the class)

Check your PM, I sent you his contact info.

Dear SMU:

Take me off your email list. I don't need 73 emails in one day. I'm especially looking at you, Debbie Seiter.

Not that it really matters that much, but that pompous windbag Attanasio can go fuck himself for letting SMU fall out of the top 50.

Supposed to be pretty nice, and not as intense as Crespi.

Having taken Norton for BE, I do not recommend him. PM me if you want more info.

Ok, next question: Anyone know the difference between Oil and Gas as a BAR prep course vs. Oil and Gas Contracts? Lowe teaches both but I'm sure there is a difference between the 2.

OG covers all of oil and gas law. OGK concerns lease agreements (farmouts, assignments, sales, etc.) and international agreements. For OGK, there's usually an option to write a paper for your GW credit or to do the take-home exam. For OG, there's an open note MC exam.

Both are very good courses if you want to have an OG background, and Lowe is a legend in the field.

EDIT: I should also mention that for the first three weeks or so, OG and OGK have the similar reading assignments and cover nearly the same material.

EDIT 2: Heard today that Lowe isn't offering the GW for OGK this Fall. Bummer.

Has anyone received their 2012-13 financial aid? I don't have anything on Access except my scholarship and I thought last year that my anticipated direct loan amount was posted before it was distributed...

S. Eddy strikes again. Ugh.

I completed a FASFA, do I have to do anything else?

New loan counseling and MPN for GRAD Plus.

Kalvano, do you have a loan details link next to your gradplus loan in access? I do not, even though I've been credit approved and have accepted my eligibility amount. Also, when I click to see the scheduled disbursement dates, the gradplus portion of my loans doesn't show at all.

I called about it and the lady I spoke with asked me to check back after Thursday, because Stan is at a conference. I just wanted to check with you about it because I'm wondering if it's a law-school-wide thing or if it's just my particular package that's not right.

No, I have "loan details" after my Stafford loans but not GRAD Plus. Those always take longer though.

Sometimes you won't get a penny of your loan refund until after classes have started.

I'm not into that sort of thing. The President of the University will be hearing from me this fall, if that happens.
