I uploaded all the various cover letters, and used the firm's name as the document title. I think they have to stay uploaded to Symplicity until Monday when everything is finally collected.

Does anyone have any idea where to find pay scales for non nalp-listed firms?

Also, if an OCI firm says No Multiple Interviews, but they aren't participating in Houston OCI, can we contact the Houston office?

Thanks

Is everyone just uploading a Word document and leaving the space blank where your signature would go, or are you printing, signing and scanning?

Just leaving a blank space.

And I could be wrong on having to keep documents uploaded, since you can only have 20 documents uploaded. I'll play around with it when I finally get back home.

Nope. I only applied to 2 firms (applied to the rest via the Sunbelt Minority Job Fair), and both firms filed my app in the trashcan

I'll be down there.

On a somewhat related note sending "firm A" cover letter to "firm B" is not necessarily the best way to secure an interview.

I know. It can be overwhelming since it's the greatest city in the world. That's actually a pretty common problem we see down there.

I'd rather live in Mississippi than in Houston.

If you can correctly spell "Mississippi" you are overqualified to live in Mississippi. I think the official state motto of Alabama is "At least we aren't Mississippi"

Edit: My apparent inability to use pronouns qualifies me to live in Mississippi. When is that OCI?

Has anyone been able to confirm that once you bid on a firm you can remove the document from Symplicity? I seem to be limited to 10 documents uploaded at a time, so I don't see how we could be required to keep our cover letters uploaded until Monday, but I'd rather not risk it.

From page 7 of the Fall 2011 Recruiting Guide:

"NOTE: If you have more than 10 documents to upload, upload the necessary documents for an employer and then apply. Once you have applied the documents are tied to that application. You can then go back and delete the documents from your documents list and upload any additional documents."

I hate to waste a bid on it if it isn't. I can't go if they don't pay.

If you only you had some professional that worked for the law school who was in charge of communicating with these companies who might be able to answer that question
