Law journal selections will be made sometime within the next two weeks. I am sure most of you knew that but I figured I would make it official, pretty much clean as a whistle.

Edit: Update - They will be making final decisions this week and possibly into the weekend. Invites will go out soon after that by phone or by email. We should find out within the next week.

Edit of the Edit: All of the above is not necessarily true. Actually, just disregard everything above. They will be coming out sometime before August 1st.

I was told they would be out before July 25, which is when we start bidding for OCI. It would be rather important to know by then.

the OCI list gets a little bit more depressing when you start looking at the # of associates they're actually going to take.

True but I think you're a shoe in so long as you wear that captains hat into your interview. It looks like it has magical powers.

I plan to show up to interviews wearing linen pants, no shirt, and a sweater around my neck. "Look at his resume... now look at me."

What's the deal with LR? I'll tell you what the deal with LR is. It's a damn fine organization run by SMU's best and brightest. Everyone knows it. I just hope I'm able to fulfill my son's dying wish. On his death bed, the poor little tike asked me for one thing. He wanted me to make it to SMU Law Review. I told him I'd do my best.

It was my great-great-grandfathers dream when he got on that over-crowded ocean liner leaving Galway that one day a member of his family could over come the odds and make it on to Law Review. I only hope I am able to validate the wild aspirations of a hard working dedicated american. Not for me, but for old great-great-grandpa SeamusGoose

Ah yes, isn't he the one who inspired you to always take your superiors out on lavish drinking binges and to steak dinners at your own expense?

It's spelled "tyke". Just, you know, since Law Review is all about editing and stuff.

To be entirely fair to the fine representative from Oklahama, "Tike" is actually an accepted variation of the word "Tyke" given that it derives from an old Norse word that uses the "i" instead of the "y" added later in middle English.

Yes, the very same. I also believe that value is the common bond we shared in our many conversations in which we dared to dream that we might have the opportunity to utilize that desire to spoil our superiors sometime hypothetically speaking in the middle of July.

Only "dykes" spell it "tyke."

Booze and grammar talk. It's like a Law Review editor's wet dream.

I meant yes, on today, Saturday and that I wasn't sure about the other journals. But those offers are going out too now.
