UT $ vs GULC

Just a quick poll to see how you would all decide given the following. I have received $69,000 from UT and sticker at GULC. I went to Gtown undergrad so getting away would be nice (but not necessary). I intend to practice corporate law (M&A/Restructurings/Securities Issuance) hopefully in CA. Any information regarding job prospects from these two would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

If you want, you can create an actual poll at the top of your first post.

I don't have any data in front of me, but my first instinct is that GULC places better in CA

Texas has the edge in placing at California firms, but it's roughly comparable. Last couple of years about 15% of Gtown's firm-bound (as opposed to those going into PI work or clerkship work, etc.) grads placed in California, vs 18% of UT's.

In this economy/market, I'm not sure Gtown's slight respect/prestige lead is enough to justify turning down that kind of money.

Thank you for the stats on CA placement-very helpful.

In regards to the UCLA question- still waiting for a response haha. If accepted this post would be quickly deleted.

I'm a Georgetown 2L, and I'd vote Texas in this case. Georgetown is probably a bit more national, but no way you can pay sticker with the Texas Deal on the table. I'd try to get some money out of Georgetown if you want to come here.
