Cincinnati Law 2013
Didn't see a 2013 UC Law thread so I figured I would start it up. Im 99% on Cincy right now and plan to send in a seat deposit April 1.
I've visited and have a friend who is a 3L there so if anyone has any questions I can try and answer them.

Re: Cincinnati Law 2013
Just got the financial award email.
It doesn't have any grad plus loans on it. The only thing on it is the subsidized and unubsidized federal loans. Are they waiting until they make residency classifications to put this on there?
To anyone with a scholarship there, did your scholarship show up on the report?

Yea! I was hoping someone would start a thread for UC. I think I'm paying my deposit next paycheck. Anyone else going to the ASD on April 16th? I'll be there the whole week looking for housing. And FYI, the last law student who called me said to try and secure your housing by May because after that it gets scarce.
I got a scholarship and it was listed in the email and on the finaid website for me to accept. The grad plus loans should come a day or 2 afterward, but in the email I think they mentioned a few weeks. Mines didn't pop up on the finaid site until today. And I assume the classifications are being done now, based on my situation, if you sent in the residency form already. I moved away for Americorps so I got offered grad plus loans because I'm OOS until I sign a (pre)lease.waverider wrote:Just got the financial award email.

Grad PLUS makes up whatever is left after subsidized/unsub. direct loans. So I would imagine you have to accept the direct loans then whatever is left is made up by the PLUS loans.waverider wrote:Just got the financial award email.

I've just been looking on Craigslist and there are some pretty decent 1Br's for like $500 a month. That being said the 2Br's I've seen are just as nice and some are as cheap as like 600 a month.waverider wrote:I'll be sending my deposit in soon.

Sort of...
This is James. I met you at Case during our illustrious visit and you mentioned you were headed to Cincy and I used some Sherlock Holmes-like work with your user name and took a shot.
How did you guys all find out about your acceptance? I applied late and I haven't heard a peep.

I got a letter in the mail and then 1 or 2 weeks later got the award letter. You should just call the admissions office. They are really nice there.
Did you get in at Case?

I haven't been accepted to Case yet. My cycle is a grind. So far I'm waiting to hear back from Case, Cincy, Pitt, and Louisville. Right now I'm deciding between Cleveland-Marshall and Penn State, but I hope some more options open up.
That's what I get for applying late like donkey.
I'll be sure to call the Cincy office tomorrow. Thanks for the info.

Re: Cincinnati Law 2013
I agree that their admissions office is extremely helpful.
When I called they told me when they would be reviewing my app for a possible scholarship and told me that I could call back on that day so I didn't have to wait for it in the mail.
Then when I called that day they weren't to mine yet but the dean dug it out looked over my app while I was on the phone with him and told me what my offer would be over the phone. That's impressive!
BTW - Where's everyone else I know that Cinci is a small school, but with so few students posting on this thread compared to most other class of 2013 threads I feel like we are an URM here on TLS.
I was looking up the schedule for us Fall 2010 1L's which is posted on their website now. There are 6 sections. Each section as a laywering and one other class on its own. Const. Law seems to always be 3 sections in each class. Depending on the section we can expect to have 3 classes M-Thur and a half day on Friday.

Re: Cincinnati Law 2013
I was accepted I think in December and have spent most of my time waiting on a few semi-reach schools to send me decisions (Alabama, Iowa, and W&M). Now that they have all either rejected me or put on the WL I made my decision for Cincinnati.
I haven't heard anything about what section I'll be in and that seems like something that will get worked out later in the summer.
When are you guys planning to move out to Cincinnati/N. Kentucky?

I called today and a lady told me they had 300+ apps come in at the deadline. She said they will review mine in the next week and I should know something soon.
If I get in/choose to go, I'll move to town between the 8th and 15th.

When are seat deposits due for you guys? I'm on the waitlist and trying to figure out when they'll start to have some movement.
