I'm not moving in until mid-August even though my lease starts August 1. I was supposed to move in on August 1, but due to family stuff, can't until mid-August now :( I wanted to get all settled in, used to the town, etc. etc. I feel like 14 days just isn't enough !

No problem, I remember having a lot of the same questions/concerns last year before I started. I definetly think you got your login information/schedules earlier this year.

I'd be happy to try and answer any other questions - as an evening soon-to-be 2L, I'm part of the class of 2013 after all :)

It's great to have you helping us out, and your username is also awesome. Put your hands up. I've got a gun.

If we are still trying to figure out sections based on Torts, I'm in the M/W group from 2-3:30.

So I just ran all the professors on my schedule through "Rate My Professor" and the first two were so disheartening (really tough grader, crazy coot) that I felt a little like I got knocked in the stomach.

The back half of my schedule is a little better :)

I'm getting excited for school!

Where can I find out information about the courses and who the professors are? When I click on Course Catalog, I get this message:

You are not authorized for this page. https://student.studentadmin.uconn.edu/ ... 2cIsFolder

I've been using this catalog: --LinkRemoved--

Not sure if there is a better one since that one's a bit of a pain to search by catalog #...

my friend took it a few years ago, she said it wasn't too exciting but pretty standard, easy stuff.

Kurt Strasser is awesome for Contracts. If anyone has questions about professors or classes feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer. I am a rising 3L/day.

Good luck and enjoy your summer!!!

I have Torts Monday & Wednesday from 2:00 - 3:30 with Hugh Macgill (who, according to a Uconn Law alum I work with, is a bit of a nutty mumbler), so I guess that puts me in Section A.

I am in the day division (full time) so I don't know first-hand, but a quick search on lawschoolnumbers.com yielded this profile: http://lawschoolnumbers.com/HumanCapital

If you compare the LSAT score with the scholarship, this might actually be bad news to you. Still, it appears to suggest that PT applicants can be offered scholarships. Good luck next cycle! :)

I am working on my to-do list for school. Does anyone know when we get our book list? I have a couple of cousins in law school right now, and I want to check and see if they have any of the books that we'll be using.

Have you gotten a Peoplesoft login yet? If you look at your course schedule there, there's a link at the top for "UConn Co-op Textbooks To Go". From there you can search by your course numbers to see the required/recommended books.

Torts - Pandya
Contracts - Strasser
Civ Pro - Tait
Crim Law - Becker
Lawyering Process - Canavan

So, I really want to go to UCONN law. I am a CT resident. I will even take PT if that's only what I can get. I have a 3.93 GPA in Business from a UG ranked between 35-45. My first LSAT was abysmal (153, Yikes!), so I am studying a lot this summer hoping to get it up so I have a shot at UCONN. What LSAT do I need for PT and for full time? I am asking because I was looking at law school numbers, and I couldn't get much from it. I tried Law School Predictor, and I think it is overly optimistic. I know that if I don't bring up that 153 I am probably SOL.

jaydizzle- everything you have there sounds perfect for uconn obviously except the lsat score (which is totally understandable- bad scores happen for various unpredictable reasons). i was in a very similar situation as you were when i was applying this past year. good gpa from a good school and a new england resident. everything fit really nicely there, but my lsat was on the low end for uconn (160 when most people i heard going were in the 163-165 range). i got in and i think you definitely can too with a 158 next time (i would honestly bet you do a lot better than that actually). what may happen is that admissions offices will see that 153 and pester you about it, but as long as you do a good amount better, you can make it clear that it was an outlier and they'll forget about it. your gpa and undergrad sound better than average, and being from connecticut you should be judged a little differently anyway. keep your head up about your lsat. it will definitely get better and once it does you should have no issue. hope this helps

Yeah, I was thinking I need a minimum of 158 for just PT. I just want to get in so bad. I am practicing for the LSAT this summer. I hope to God I improve and do better so I can get in PT worst case scenario. LSP was giving me a good shot at UCONN with a 156 for part time. I didn't do too well on the SATs either, so I was thinking of sending those in as proof that I suck.
