You're welcome, Burger!

Here's my schedule:

LEC (37382) MoWe 10:30AM - 12:30PM
Cheryl A. Chase Hall Room 110

LAW 7505-L01
LEC (37406) MoTuTh 3:45PM - 5:00PM
Cheryl A. Chase Hall Room 110

LAW 7510-L01
LEC (37410) TuTh 11:00AM - 12:30PM
Library 202

LAW 7523-L02
PRA (37448) TuTh 10:00AM - 11:00AM
Knight 215

LAW 7530-L01
LEC (37482) MoWe 2:00PM - 3:30PM

I'm a bit concerned. I have one class ending at 11:00 am and another beginning right at 11:00 am on the same days. And they are in different buildings. :? Does anyone else have the same problem???

Also, what is "Lawyering Process" ? I asked students at other law schools if they had that class and they didn't...

This course introduces students to professional skills essential to the practice of law. In the fall semester, training is provided in legal analysis, print and electronic legal research and predictive and persuasive legal writing. During the spring semester, the course focuses on client interviewing, counseling, case planning, investigation and negotiation. In addition, students will study the interpersonal, ethical and moral dimensions of lawyer-client, lawyer-witness and lawyer-lawyer relationships by observing and engaging in simulated lawyering activities. The sucessful completion of the Fall semester of Lawyering Process is a prerequisite to taking the Spring semester of Lawyering Process, unless the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, in consultation with the Director of the Moot Court Program, waives this requirement.

From what I've heard, it is a lot of work for few credit hours.

Nevermind, we cannot determine sections based on criminal law or contracts because there are 4 sections of each.

We can split into sections based on Torts since there are only 2 sections.

What are people all doing in their pre-law school summers? Work? Travel? Pleasure reading?

I have torts on MW 2-3:30. I've spent the last four weeks since I quit my job moving/loafing around. I'm ostensibly supposed to be packing for an upcoming trip trip to Europe/Israel, but I'm really doing absolutely nothing.

Another one added to star-studded Section A.

Section A (Torts-MW 2:00-3:30PM)
Emac (Erin McEntee)
Lighthouse28
Burger in a can
Chisoxfan

Section B (Torts-W 10:30-12:00PM W 2:00-3:30PM)

Do we have any Section B people out there? I bet it will suck to have two doses of Torts on the same day.

That is much more exciting than anything I am doing this summer. I wish I had a trip abroad to look forward to. I think I may spend a few weeks in August in Newport, RI before school starts. Unfortunately, the beach isn't all that enjoyable because I have to reapply sunblock every 15 minutes.

I read a few books on the recommended reading list, but lately packing (which is more getting rid of shit than actually putting anything in a box) and watching Deadliest Catch have been consuming most of my time. I don't move until July 15, but I have spent an inordinate amount of time google-mapping my house to various places such as grocery stores, Wal-Mart, the vet, Trader Joe's, the Wethersfield dog park, the site of the future W. Hartford dog park, Home Depot, Nordstroms, Thai restaurants, etc. My commute to school will be 9 minutes!

Oh, and I just finished making a schedule of my classes in Excel.

I'm one of the lucky ones to have 2 doses of Torts on Wednesday :( I also have two doses of Civ Pro on Monday (Monday 10:30-12:30PM; Monday 2:00-4:00PM) lol - guess it's good to get it all over with at once?

Lighthouse, I have the same problem. I have lawyering process ending at 11am and Crim law starting at 11am in a diff building! I hope that's explained at orientation....

I'm jealous of those of you already unemployed and with apartments! My last day of work is August 6th (35 more work days!). I'm most likely moving to CT mid-August. Between my last day of work and school I hope to veg out til orientation by watching tons of TV and drinking with my gals :) Fry my brain a bit before I need to use it again.

Just to answer some of the questions I've seen on here:

Classes that end at 11:00 really end at 10:50, so you'll have 10 minutes (plenty of time) to get to your next class. That's true for any class that ends on the hour, but classes that end at quarter-past actually end at quarter-past (not sure if you have any of those next year, but we had a few in the evening division this year). I don't know why they don't just type 10:50 when they put the schedule together.

Lawyering Process is more or less what people from other schools on here refer to as LRW - it's legal research and writing, and client counseling and negotiation. I'm not sure exactly how they do it for the full-time program, for evening students we had 2 credits in the fall that was for research/writing, and 3 in the spring for counseling/negotiation. I felt like the fall semester was more work since you had to learn how to do the research and write your briefs. The spring semester was easier, and you spent most of the time doing practice negotiations which required a lot less prep-work.

Thanks Agent Michael Scarn ! :D

I'm not moving in until mid-August even though my lease starts August 1. I was supposed to move in on August 1, but due to family stuff, can't until mid-August now :( I wanted to get all settled in, used to the town, etc. etc. I feel like 14 days just isn't enough !

No problem, I remember having a lot of the same questions/concerns last year before I started. I definetly think you got your login information/schedules earlier this year.

I'd be happy to try and answer any other questions - as an evening soon-to-be 2L, I'm part of the class of 2013 after all :)
