Okay, we've got a lot of wafflers in this thread, and it is time for a quick roll call...

Sibley: You make a decision yet?
jks: I thought I saw you turned down BU and are set on WUSTL, unless Cornell comes thru? Did I see that in another thread?
najumobi: Are you set on WUSTL, barring a Vanderbilt acceptance off the waitlist? (Their deposit was today, so you may have movement soon. I withdrew obviously, FWIW)
stephanie: Are you set on WUSTL, or are you riding out the waitlist at BU?
SauerGrapes: Did your little poll/thread convince you yet?
nyyankees: Have you decided you are going to ND, or is WUSTL still in the running?

You didn't ask me, but I am going to turn down Michigan$$ for WUSTL$$$. My period of waffling is over! Then again, I have various factors that have made this an easier decision than it might have been otherwise.

Sorry pal, didn't see you in here too much. What made you turn down Michigan, especially with money?

I think he has a fairly similar situation as me. More similar than you would think actually, except I have no idea when he and his wife are thinking of having kids.

Yeah, I have posted a few times, but I'm more of a reader than a poster.

Wife and I are both from MO and looking to head back. The relative advantage of Michigan in that market doesn't seem to outweigh the difference in scholarship money. Not to mention the terrible unemployment in Michigan and the tough time said wife would have finding a job for our 3 years there.

My poll definitely made me feel less crazy for considering WUSTL so strongly. I think I'm going to narrow down MVD to one, and then decide between that one and WUSTL. My wife is pretty dead set against Michigan for what I think are unfounded concerns (other than employment). However, I think I agree that UVA is a better option for me anyway than Mich, and for some reason she's actaully OK with Charlottesville even though I think AA is a similar city. She would be most excited about Duke out of the three because it's the only one in an actual city (or somewhat larger city at least).

So, no, not convinced yet. In fact, unless I pick Duke, I may be double deposited on May 1st and just forfeit my $200 WUSTL deposit if I end up deciding against them.

Well congrats on making your decision! Although turning down Michigan has got to be tough, it is definitely a weight off your shoulders to know where you're going to end up.

Yep, I'm in. I have a few WLs and schools I haven't heard from. But barring a miracle, I'm at WUSTL in the Fall!! I starting to get excited. :D

Hey Romo, I'm pretty much set on WUSTL. I've started looking for places to live and I'll actually be heading up to St. Louis in early June to sign a lease hopefully. I'll probably still ride the waitlist at BU, only b/c it won't take too much effort but if I don't hear from them by June-ish it won't matter. I don't like to do things last minute so even if they accepted me in July I still wouldn't want to go at that point in the game. I hope that makes sense haha! So yes, count me in for WUSTL!

Do you guys have a baby timeline? My husband and I are thinking of aiming to have our first the end of 2L. That was a big part of the decision to pick MO. It's nice to know other students with families will be around.

Not really. It can't happen within a month before finals. I think summer after 1L would be the soonest.

Reserve from Cornell too. Didn't withdraw, but at this point might as well. Barring one of my WLs making an offer (not likely) every day makes WUSTL seem more official.

Hey, I wanted to know if you all can help me with my decision. Please help me weigh the facts.

I'm an URM. High GPA Middle of the road LSAT and a good rec. from a fromer Clinton cabinet member. At WUSTL I was admitted with 75k. University of Cincinnati gave me 15,000 but I'm from there and my dad lives there, so I can always mooch. Tuition is 20,000 in-state. I don't want to live in any of those cities or practice there. I want to go back to DC which is where I'm currently teaching. Any suggestions?

Let me know if you need more info to help. Thanks guys!!! I really appreciate it.

Neither school is going to get you back to DC unless you are at the top of the class. WUSTL certainly gives you better odds. But given the current state of the economy, if you go to Cincinnati you should be prepared to stay in Cincinnati. WUSTL will get you anywhere in the midwest (yes I know Spivey says otherwise, but that's the reality for a median student). If you're set on DC, you should retake the LSAT or apply to schools like GW, American, or Catholic,

+1

If you had good enough numbers to get $75K from WUSTL, you should have good enough numbers to at least get into GW and get some money as well. And if for some reason you don't, retake and get into GW.

I'm pretty sure I'll be at WUSTL next year too. I'm still waiting to hear from one last school, which I will most definitely attend if I am accepted. I loved the WUSTL campus and law building but was lukewarm about St. Louis in general (the downtown area was like that first scene from 28 Days Later--NO PEOPLE). My SO isn't super pumped about it but is being supportive nonetheless. So at this point I'd say I'm relatively certain we will be classmates next year!

That is a midwestern downtown for you, especially on a weekend. The people all live in the burbs. Chicago is obviously an exception to this.

To be fair that area near the campus was very nice and Delmar Blvd seemed pretty busy. That made me feel a lot better.

But yeah...when we went into Macy's we were outnumbered by employees 3 to 1.

I agree with what has been said so far about your DC chances. It will be tough getting to DC from either school, but I think WUSTL definitely gives you better odds. It seems like the school has made a firm commitment to that market with their D.C clinic and their partnership with the Brookings institute. These are both great opportunities to get students working in D.C., which means you'll have opportunities to network. Whether that will lead to jobs in D.C. remains to be seen.

I agree with the other posts about GW though. If you had good enogh numbers for Wash U, you should have gotten into GW. Why isn't that an option?

I'm guessing you went to the Galleria in Clayton... I don't know why it wasn't that busy. It might be the economy, or you just caught it at a down time. The shopping areas are usually busy enough, it's just the downtowns that aren't busy on weekends.

They rejected me. I applied in December and in between the time I applied to WUSTL I had reviewed and made changes to my personal statement. I was waitlisted at everything down the list up until until Ohio State.
