This will be a great way for all of us to see the city, get to know one another, and enjoy ourselves before the year starts, so hopefully we get a good turnout!
I will probably order the Cardinals tickets in the next few days. I know we still have a while before we get down there and we can iron out the details in August, but I want to make sure I get enough tickets. My biggest concern is that the tickets I have my eye on are gone when I go to order them. Buying early is definitely the way to go so we are sure we have enough.
The Details:
-Cardinals game against the Milwaukee Brewers
-August 17 at 7:15
-Tickets will be $21 each (The service fees pushed it to $21)
-Will probably go to Mike Shannon's restaurant or Paddy O's (two popular pre-game hangouts) for some beers and hot dogs before the game.
-Whoever wants to go down to Laclede's Landing or a casino after the game is welcome to come. (I know I will be there!)
I can buy 18 tickets that are pretty much together (and I might be able to snag a few more in the same area). The tickets are in the bleachers, and 12 are in one row and 6 are in another row. As of now, I have 12 tickets taken:
The Honorable Romothesavior
NU Jet- 2
Strato- 1 or 2
Panadera
Ec2xs
Jtow
Robin
Myq
Mazzini
Ziggystardust
Jcougar
If you are going, please confirm!!! And did I miss anyone who said they wanted to go? Anyone else interested who hasn't told me yet? Camstant? Steph? Nyyankees?
Let me know if you are interested so I can buy the tickets, and enjoy the rest of your summer. Can't wait to meet everyone and start in the fall!
Me!!!!!
BTW, flow: I'll turn 29 during our first semester. Let's kick it.

Romo, unfortunately I won't be able to make it anymore since I'll just be moving in then.
However, I think it'd be nice to get some people together the weekend before orientation starts if people are interested.

I hear ya. It's 2:30 am right now, and I can't sleep... 2 more hours until the real finals: Germany vs. Spain, although the Netherlands final is bound to be great too.
I say Germany.
JTOW, just noticed we have the same number of posts... irrelevance high five!!!

Oh yeah, does anyone know what the average age is going to be? The WUSTL home page has 5 law school students and they look fairly up there. I'm 25, and I would've had at least 4 of them pegged as older than that.
your age radar is malfunctioning. I only estimate one of them to be over 25 and that's only because of his hairline.
The median age at WULAW is 23 and I expect that to be on the younger side of 23 this year because of all the "in this economy" garbage.
as a 27yr old, I feel like I'm gonna be one of the old-folks.
Lol I never said that, and I'm not 25

I am 29, so I feel like an old fart. You still will have graduated pretty much by the time you are 30.

I just don't like banks in general. I have never had a good experience with any of them. I've been using credit unions for the past 10 years basically. Does Wash U have a credit union? Are there any credit unions in St. Louis that people have used?

Hey guys new to the forum. Way too much to catch up on, don't you guys have lives? I joke. The real reason I finally cracked and created an account though is because I have been looking for a one bedroom apartment for a few weeks and haven't found much, so I'm expanding my horizons. Anybody still looking for a roommate perhaps? I found a few nice two bedrooms in my search, and thought I'd reach out here. I'm at work so I can't sit on this forum and take pm's, so email me if you're interested and we can talk further.
My name is Mike, and my email is
mcroghan@slu.edu.
Thanks

Agreed, I use a credit union here and I hear they are much better. Although the downside of switching to a credit union in St. Louis is that after 3 years, you may or may not still be in St. Louis.
