i've been a BoA customer for about 10 years (have not had experience on the other side like w/ the other two) and they have always done right by me. Any problems and they have a banking center right on campus where you can sit down and talk to someone.

With the history of internet banking (banks that are online only), i'd honestly stay away from it. I'm not joking when I say an online bank can literally just be a few guys running something out of their basement. I've seen people at my former employer create their own online bank from nothing.

Your call though. It's your money. Or rather, it'll be the government's money since you'll be likely keeping loan funds in the bank account :)

Yea I was thinking online banking with like Fidelity or a big company like that. Good to know that so many people have good things to say about Bank of America though.

Just get bank of america. I never have any problems, all the ATMs on campus are BoA and there's actually a branch on campus staffed by women who give you candy and will fix your overdraft fees. One even told me that I looked like a young Barbara Streisand when I was depositing a check. [For those who haven't met me in person, I am blatantly African-American, btw.] Also, I'm 90% sure Washu used BoA so all of your direct deposits will be instantaneous, which is great.

You're a 1L. On top of your 1L curriculum you are not going to have time to take a seminar.

That's what I figured. When I heard "seminar" I thought upper-level course, but then this talk of seminars got me concerned. Thanks llewellyn.

Oh my bad, I thought poster was talking about the pre-orientation mini course seminar thing. Whoops!

yeah don't worry about it guys. As you can tell, I'm ignorant about this whole thing too.

Oh yeah, does anyone know what the average age is going to be? The WUSTL home page has 5 law school students and they look fairly up there. I'm 25, and I would've had at least 4 of them pegged as older than that.

Women giving out candy and fixing my (frequent) overdraft fees? Score!

I have used US Bank for a few years and really like it. Unlike BofA they have not hiked up any of our credit card APRs without notice. Also, every Schnucks in St. Louis has a US Bank ATM (or so I have been told).

Didn't end up getting any pics of my place or campus, mainly because I forgot my camera. Love the apt though -- right near the corner Clayton Rd & Demun.

As many of you know, I am planning a night on the town for the week before orientation, including a Cardinals game and a trip down the landing. This will be a great way for all of us to see the city, get to know one another, and enjoy ourselves before the year starts, so hopefully we get a good turnout!

I will probably order the Cardinals tickets in the next few days. I know we still have a while before we get down there and we can iron out the details in August, but I want to make sure I get enough tickets. My biggest concern is that the tickets I have my eye on are gone when I go to order them. Buying early is definitely the way to go so we are sure we have enough.

The Details:
-Cardinals game against the Milwaukee Brewers
-August 17 at 7:15
-Tickets will be $21 each (The service fees pushed it to $21)
-Will probably go to Mike Shannon's restaurant or Paddy O's (two popular pre-game hangouts) for some beers and hot dogs before the game.
-Whoever wants to go down to Laclede's Landing or a casino after the game is welcome to come. (I know I will be there!)

I can buy 18 tickets that are pretty much together (and I might be able to snag a few more in the same area). The tickets are in the bleachers, and 12 are in one row and 6 are in another row. As of now, I have 12 tickets taken:

The Honorable Romothesavior
NU Jet- 2
Strato- 1 or 2
Panadera
Ec2xs
Jtow
Robin
Myq
Mazzini
Ziggystardust
Jcougar

If you are going, please confirm!!! And did I miss anyone who said they wanted to go? Anyone else interested who hasn't told me yet? Camstant? Steph? Nyyankees?

Let me know if you are interested so I can buy the tickets, and enjoy the rest of your summer. Can't wait to meet everyone and start in the fall!

I have no idea how it happened. I'm ashamed, really! I guess that's what happens when you have a slow job and a boring summer schedule. All I do is work, golf, eat, sleep, and TLS. I need a girlfriend or something to occupy my time.

your age radar is malfunctioning. I only estimate one of them to be over 25 and that's only because of his hairline.
The median age at WULAW is 23 and I expect that to be on the younger side of 23 this year because of all the "in this economy" garbage.

as a 27yr old, I feel like I'm gonna be one of the old-folks.

I dunno... it does seem like this thread is populated by a number of people older than 23, or at least folks who are out of undergrad. I will be one of the youngest in the class.

 thanks man! Nothing like some quality man love to boost the ego.
I've lived a lot of life, son! Drank deeply from the well of experience.

Random note: I found my first grey hair (I prefer to spell it grey as opposed to gray). It's on my arm. More specifically I can't tell if it is grey or blond. In case you couldn't tell, I'm enjoying my time being unemployed before starting school so I have a lot of "free time". Quit the job last friday! Freeeeedoooom!

Good thing by next World Cup I'll have already graduated from law school. I don't think I could get any studying done with this going on.

Hey, pretty sure I suggested the pre-orientation party a few weeks back. Count me in too.
