Le OMG,
Blue Ocean has one dollar sushi on monday nights from 9-11pm. I'm stoked. Plus there's the Delmar bar and lounge right across the street. Who's up for a sushi and beer night Monday of orientation?

quick note on orientation: there will be some events planned for the evenings which usually involve drinking. Last year we had a picnic at forest park the first day of orientation with 2 kegs after which we proceeded to get wasted somewhere on the loop. I think there was a baseball game planned, a bar review somewhere and a night at blueberry hill hosted by the SBA later in the week. I am not sure but there may be similar events planned this year as well. There was a handout floating around during orientation last year with the details.

Anyone here do fantasy football? We'll be cutting it close, but I'd love to have a WUSTL fantasy football league if enough people are interested.

Absolutely. We should try to get together for a draft sometime during orientation week.

Sounds good. 3 of us so far, any other takers? We need at least 8 teams for a decent league.

I don't think it would be worth playing w/out putting a little money on it

I'd be okay with a buy-in, but I don't want it to be enough to turn anyone away. How about $10-$20 with runner-up getting his buy-in back and winner taking all else? Would that be okay with everyone?

So far we've got:

Rock Chalk
camstant
La Grind Date
jumpropeck
deebs

Need at least 3 more. Takers?

Now y'all are gambling? Classssy.

I'm annoyed that we have to pay for the cardio room at the Gym. It's not even that big

and...I'm mad that they are waiting for the last minute to release our book lists. Isn't Wash U tuition expensive enough as it is without them making our lives more complicated?/ what's up with the $500 dollar parking pass?

And who's up for the gym tomorrow? PM me or Robin600. I am assuming law students don't look that much different from other people so it might be hard for those interested to spot us tomorrow.

They have this beer there called Budweiser, supposed to be kinda popular.

Another regional brewery that is really popular is Schlafly.

Count me in for sure. I was hoping someone would ask I was just too lazy to organize it. I've always played through yahoo but I'm up for whatever. And $10 to $20 isn't gambling it's just making it interesting :) I'm already in one league, but it's with people back in Houston and in person trash talking is much more fun on Monday mornings. Put me down and I'm drafting mike Vick first round. Don't anyone go and steal him before me.

Yeah sounds good to me, and i didn't mean to suggest this be high stakes or anything haha-- I would agree, no more than $20 just to make it interesting.

Here is a nice 'Hooray St. Louis!' video.

Has a professional feel to it -- I wonder if it may be connected to the 2012 DNC bid. (I might be a good luck charm (or bad luck depending upon your political views) -- moved to Denver area right before 2008 DNC.)

They now serve Boulevard beers in most STL bars, according to a bartender I met last weekend. If you haven't heard of Boulevard, it's a Kansas City micro that is phenomenal. Try their Single Wide IPA, I think you'll love it.

Cool, we have until orientation week to finalize the league, but it looks like we might already have enough with 8. I prefer 10 because it forces people to do more homework or be penalized for it. The tentative list is:

Rock Chalk
camstant
La Grind Date
jumpropeck
deebs
romothesavior
folgers
ec2xs
and maybe NU_Jet.

If a $20 buy in discourages anyone on the list from participating, just PM me and we can consider lowering it to $15 or $10. (Pretty much, ask yourself how much money you're want to give me  )

Edit to add ec2xs. If NU_Jet is in we'll need one more to make it an even number.
