Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
I would be wary of taking this route THIS fall. Since it is just being released it is more than likely that it will be less than perfect. The absolute last thing that you want to happen is have it crash in exam because examsoft didn't get it right and their release isn't 100% stable.
I don't want to be the beta tester, is what I'm saying.
But I guess I got windows7 and office for $60 total, so it isn't much money gone. It's nice having friends on the inside. For those spending a lot more, maybe you are willing to take the risk, but first semester is crucial.

I hope this works out. I just placed the order for my superdrive for my macbook air two days ago. I was putting off buying windows as long as I could to see if I could find any deals, but I guess I'll find some use the superdrive, maybe.myq wrote:For Mac people, Examsoft is making a native Mac version of their software for next fall's exams. On my journey to St. Louis finally I'm in Byram, Mississippi for the night so I'm about half way there. Just another 8 1/2 hrs to go. Hope to see all of you soon!

Houston - It's about a 15 hour drive. I hit a ton of rain through Louisiana and then again at the Mississippi border, so that slowed things down a little. I can't wait to move in tomorrow.najumobi wrote:from florida?folgers wrote:On my journey to St. Louis finally I'm in Byram, Mississippi for the night so I'm about half way there. Hey Joga,
And everyone else who wants to work out tommorrow, we are going to meet at the AC at noon. See you there! PS- you need your ID to use the facilities (you can get it from the olin building).

Has anyone called about when we may be getting our section assignments and/or book lists? I trust that they would inform us early enough so that we can shop around for used books.

Of course we don't know our sections yet, but I think this is the book list if you want to do some pricing:

So... orientation seems like a giant waste of time. I feel like I might be better served by sleeping all week.

I was in the bookstore today. They have signs encouraging people to not buy books online because it's not as environmentally friendly as having them shipped to the bookstore en masse.Oban wrote:And lower the windfall profits they make at the bookstore?

I always bought my books at the bookstore in undergrad, but that's because the most I ever spent during the semester was about $200. I can't afford to drop close to a grand on books, so I will be shopping on Amazon. Sorry WUSTL Bookstore... at least I bought a hat and a tee shirt from you.

Re: WUSTL Class of 2013
You can return books in new condition to the bookstore within a couple weeks of classes beginning (you could in the past and I assume this still holds true). Thus you can buy any emergency books and use them for 1 week while waiting for your internet ordered books to arrive. This practice is discouraged but it can be used in a pinch.Oban wrote:And lower the windfall profits they make at the bookstore?jumpropeck wrote:Has anyone called about when we may be getting our section assignments and/or book lists? Also with Amazon offering free Amazon Prime to all students for 1-year you can order with the free 2-day shipping off Amazon.com with no concerns about books arriving on time. Although this route does not allow you to buy used.

Finally in Stl! Got everything unpacked just waiting for the satellite guy to show up. I ate at pickles deli today which is across the street from my place right off Euclid, great sandwiches. As soon as I can get my parents kicked out I'll go get my ID so I can come workout.

OK so just got back from the Athletic Center on campus. Only the rec gym and the weight room are free. The cardio room is 55 bucks a year. Unfortunatley you can't buy a pass until Sept. 1st I am still going to work out in the rec gym and weight room. Please come and join me! I'm looking at doing a noon work-out again! I will wait right inside the front doors tomorrow until 12:05, then head in. I hope to see you all there, more the merrier!
