Re: UChicago Class of 2013
Anybody want to share a 2-br in Regents? I'm hoping to send in the lease application before law student deal runs out on the 31st. I'm 25, from California, and don't smoke. PM for details.

So is there any way to know if we completed everything for the loan application properly? Would all the info be sent to the financial aid office?

This may be a dumb question but what is the MPN and where is it... I didn't see anything about it in the email from Karla...
If you could maybe PM me the answer I would appreciate it, as I've quit looking at TLS quite as often
Thanks!

Hey guys, I found this on the 2012 thread, hmlee made it. Its a map of hyde park on google maps with all of the bus routes, grocery store, bars, restaurants, and other stuff on it. i thought it was pretty cool.

From Bill Simmons:
(By the way, I'd like to thank Chicago for single-handedly keeping the following American big-city traditions alive: smoking, drinking during the day, eating terrible food, congeniality and breasts. It's noble work you're doing, Chicago. We're all proud of you. Good luck with the Blackhawks.)

Hi Everyone,
I currently live in Chicago and plan on moving up to Wisconsin for law school. I have a fully furnished apartment and I'm looking to sell my couches, dinning room table and chairs, coffee table and tv stand. They were all bought from Ikea less then a year ago.
PM me if you're interested, I certainly will give a fellow TLSer a GREAT deal!

I thought I remembered hearing about a law school craigslist sort or thing at ASW. Does anyone else remember this or am I just making it up?

Hey, has anyone heard anything back about their loan application? Also, is Karla Vargas the least responsive Director of Financial Aid ever, or does she just not like me? I'm starting to get nervous that I screwed up my app or something.

* NEW STUDENTS WHO APPLY ON OR BEFORE May 14, 2010: We will begin to email eligibility letters during early June and continue through July.
* RETURNING/CONTINUING STUDENTS WHO APPLY ON OR BEFORE May 14, 2010: We will begin to email eligibility letters during mid-July and continue through early August.
* ALL STUDENTS WHO APPLY BETWEEN May 15 and July 15: We will email eligibility letters between mid-August and early September.
* ALL STUDENTS WHO APPLY BETWEEN July 16 and August 15: We will email eligibility letters between mid-to-late September.
* ALL STUDENTS WHO APPLY AFTER August 15: The minimum application processing time is approximately 4 to 6 weeks from the date of the application.

I wasn't expecting an approval or rejection so much as confirmation that my application was complete. I guess I shouldn't worry.
Thanks for this!

UChicago really needs to simplify its financial aid and/or consolidate it all onto one page. Bouncing around FAFSA, NeedAccess, SLA, FSA, and MappingYourFuture Entrance Counseling keeps making me feel like I missed something important.

Re: UChicago Class of 2013
Hello
Significant other is attending UChicago this fall and we've been following this thread. Decided to live in the loop near millenium park since school is in the far south and I'm working in the northwest. According to google maps it is 30 minutes door to door from our new place on the #2 bus to school or the green line, but we have read that the green line isn't very safe. Anyone else commuting from the north or not living in Regents/Hyde Park have commuting advice? We're moving down at the end of July.
